Well I did. I stole the 1000 cc idea from Lamonts GS Spyder and I'm using it on mine with a slight twist. My Spyder now has a 1000 cc Intel core processor with 64 bits of rubber coming off my rear tire. :roflblack: Thanks Lamont for the idea !!! I also added yellow pinstripe to the front wheels for the six legged Spider look. :doorag:

The worst part is, with the factory decals people think it's a 990. :(

I don't get irritated easily but THAT kinda irritates me!!

Jeez, the V Max is a 1198 and they call it a 1200.....BRP dropped the ball! :chat:

It's an insurance thing 1K+ has a higher rate than 1K-. Is that also true in Canada, eh??

Insurance wouldn't be affected by a decal on the side, would it? You can call it anything you want but it's still a 998cc....isn't that what the ins. folks go by? :dontknow:

Nice Randy...Insurance co's vary but I agree with Dragonrider...aaaaaand the reason BRP calls the :ani29: a " 990 " is the cost of the " zero " decal was way less than the cost of the " eight " decal....IMHO knowing BRP'S way of thinking.....:roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:....:agree:...:gaah:.....:gaah:..:bangh ead:...:banghead:....:yikes:....:yikes:.....:yikes :.....MIKE.....

998 or 1000. 1000 sounds better and it does look good on your machine but I just tell anyone to get outta my way. These things are three wheel rockets and cruise all day at 85 to 90 no problem.

The size of the engine is in the VIN so brp can't hide it with a sticker, Also price of the vehicle, and age of the rider, among other thing's will figure in insurance costs. ie, Driving record, where the owner lives and if they park at home in a garage, And how many accidents that class of vehicles tends to be involved in. [An actuary figures that out]

In Alberta ,Canada, over 1000c, does DEFINETLY , PUT YOU INTO A HIGHER THAN NORMAL insurance bracket. Maybe in this instance BRP did something correct for a change ??? Not sure, but still love my SPYDER:yes:

Sorry that I'm late to the party... :opps: The c.c. breakpoints where the companies adjust their rating structure is completely unique to each of them... That's how they can justify their pricing and keep their rates competitive.
Class dismissed... :D

Or, for half the price you can get them where I did. Fast shipping and you get two decals in this deal. You also get a choice in what size and color you choose. Mine is the large.

Randy, I love what you are doing with your machine.......looks great!!!:2thumbs: The wheels are awesome!!

I finally got my Spyder back together with the new Michelin Hydroedge Tire on the back and new wheel bearings and new wheel hub. I love that new tire, it looks a lot beefier than the stock tire and looks like it will go 30,000 to 40,000 miles. I am going to change the front wheel bearings next and maybe the plug wire from Bajaron.

What tension did you adjust your belt to. I finally got mine around 180 on the KriKit II and took it out for about a 50 mile ride and it seems good where it is. There was white dust from you know what all over it by the time I got back:( and I spent a lot of time getting it cleaned up again. I sure am getting 'antsie' for good riding weather to get here again.

I have not adjusted anything yet. My parts are still at the powder coater and I'm starting to get upset about that. He is almost 2 weeks over projected time. There have been a couple of days I would have liked to go test the Spyder out.

We have no snow here yet !!! Thats really odd.
