While writing this, I find myself in the hospital for the fifth time since Monday of last week, having a heart issue called atrial fibrillation. This causes my heart rate to go up to around 150 bpm. They successfully convert me to normal rhythm & then I go back into A-fib within a day or two. Please pray for my wife especially. She has lost a husband before, and while I know she is strong, I'm certain this is especially hard on her.

Thanks

Mark,
I have a family member with the same condition. His onset was when he was in his teens. This is a very treatable thing. It would suck to have to take the meds everyday but it is better than the alternative. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.

Not a good diagnosis, and not a good time of year to be hospitalized, but they do wonders with controlling A-fib these days. I know your faith in the Lord will sustain you during this rough spot in the road. Keep the faith, do what your doctor says, and we will take care of the prayers.:pray::pray:

You and your wife will be in my thoughts and prayers. I sure hope the doctors get this figured out. I believe worst case is they hook you up with an internal defibrilator. But, there are medications too. Sure hope you don't have to spend Christmas in the hospital.

Doc's need to find the right long term treatment plan after the conversion. Be strong and Merry Christmas to you and your wife.

Mark,
I went through the same thing this past year. My heart was beating up to 200bpm. I now wear a pace maker and had an ablation procedure in early August. Since the heart surgery I have had no A fib. Having it scares the hell out of you. You revisit a lot of things in your life, family, your belief and faith in God, things you've done, and things you haven't done. Hang in there. Lots of people including my brother live normal lives after treatment. Take care, and pm me if you want to talk about it. My Spyder was on my bucket list and because of Afib, I bought mine this fall.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I've had A-fib for years & have been on meds for it. I had an ablation the end of October. Will likely need a second. Something has changed a couple of weeks. Now it is much more frequent and persistent. I've been on meds for years.

Im new around here, and I dont know much about what you are going through, but I will offer it all up, your wife, yourself, and the hands and skill of the people giving you treatment. You have seemed full of life and very positive and those items will help carry you through, thank you for being an inspiration to a younger Spyderlover. Be well.

Mark,

You can be sure your Spyder family will do the praying. Please let me know if I can do anything to help. I'm only an hour or so away. I don't do windows or paint very well. The rest of normal stuff I can handle. Do what the Docs say and we'll see you soon.

You are in my payers . When it comes to the hart any problem is vary scary. I'll also pray for your wife. My wife has to put up with me and my health and knows what she is going through. Too many runs to the ER not knowing what is happening is stressful on both parties.

Please accept my heartfelt thanks for your prayers and encouraging words. I am at home now & hope to keep it that way.

I've had probably a hundred of these A-fib episodes over the last 6-7 years. Normally they're weeks apart and don't last more than a half day. Now it's several times a week and may be days long in endurance. In fact, I'm still in it. They are now trying to control the heart rate & continue to protect me from blood clots (managing stroke risks). Later, we'll look at another ablation or two. We'll see...

I have been off the forum for a few days.. had no idea. My prayers for your continued stable progress.
I have yet to meet your special lady, but hope to some time soon. Your concern for what she is going through in relation to your health issues speaks to you as a husband and to your special relationship.

Take a deep breath and follow your doctors recommadations.

Thanks everyone. Because of God's awesome grace, your prayers & some new meds from the Doc, my heart rate has been stable for over a week now. Will likely have another ablation procedure somewhere around the end of January. It is our hope that this will provide permanent relief.

Thanks again!
