is it true if i take my rear wheel and get polished, chromed or powder coated i need to replace the bearings too? and that cost around $200?

If you have more than 12 thousand miles on them i would change them, being you have the wheel off any way.:dontknow: The parts run around 50$ plus or minus.

I'm having mine changed with the rear tire... They've already got everything off the back of the bike that needs to be pulled anyway...:thumbup:

Likewise. I had bearings replaced on my RTS when I had a new rear wheel put on at about 15,000 miles.

You can not get it powder coated with bearings in. They put it in a oven, not good for bearings. I'm taking mine to the powder coater tommorrow so I know that was the reason why I called them. :thumbup:

Make real sure the bearing and mating surfaces are properly masked, too, or your wheels will never go back together right.

I made sure I told them about that today when I dropped the pieces off. Thanks Scotty !!!:thumbup:
