View Full Version : How Many Safeties???

Bob Denman

Of course; Sunday afternoons bring hours of couch-potatodom and football at Chez-Denman... :opps:
Three games were on, so we settled in and hunkered down for the duration!
Three games and Three safeties were scored... When did that happen last? :dontknow:
I honestly couldn't recall the last time that I had even seen one; much less this number! :hun:
Did anybody else notice this?
Or have I been Spyderless for too long??? :D

Phil

I thought the same thing Bob! And I HAVE my Spyder, so it WAS unusual! In fact there were other odd things what had calls associated with them that made me go 'huh?'.

Tyler, Texas... Were you rooting for the Cowboys last night??
We weren't; but it was an exciting game regardless of the outcome! I believe that there were over 900 yards of offense piled up... :yikes:
My Missus gets so mad at Eli Manning... :gaah: But he IS a battler once the clock starts making folks nervous...
I still wouldn't count out the "Iggles"... As much as I specifically root AGAINST them; they could still get around the rest of the field if they start squabbling amongst themselves... :gaah:

Holly and I are in first place in our Fantasy Football League. We are 11-3 and our first playoff game is next week. :firstplace:

The one stat I can't get over is how many kickers can kick a field goal 55+ yards now. In the Bears and Denver game, the Bears kicked a 55 yarder and Denver kicked a 59 yarder. That is crazy far, but now is becoming normal in the NFL. :yikes:

Don't get me started on this Tim Tebow mania, now everyone is saying....... God is helping him win in the 4th quarter. :dontknow:

IMHO: It was a great football day Sunday. Lots of interesting plays and different calls.

Arntu: I have been amazed at the Tebow mania. The public questions every week will he be the starter, they even question his religeous beliefs.

He has had mostly good games since becoming QB--and not to many bad mistakes for a rookie.

My statement is: I think Tebow is a pretty good QB--without any extra help. I am guessing the big man does not favor particular sports teams, but probably watches a game once in awhile.

I don't mean to start anything--but who knows :roflblack:

I think that it's the unfamiliarity with his style of offense that's driving the success... The NFL teams don't figure on playing a team running a college-style, option-laden offense... When everything looks like a running play, the defense collapses, the receivers back-track toward the QB, and he can dump the ball off to them or just let the running play develop!
I think that New England is going to give them a REAL serious test this weekend...

:agree: Denver has a great defense and field goal kicker. Thats it. IMO, Tim Tebow really is not a good quarterback and even John Elway in the front office knows it. Watch what happens this week when Denver plays a real team, New England will crush them this week.

Now, Tom Brady on the other hand is a top ten of all time great QB..........No question about it.

:hun: I have absolutely no idea what "Fantasy" football is... (I have enough trouble when REALITY smacks me upside the noggin'!) I finally got my head wrapped around the idea that if Green Bay doesn't go 16-0 during the regular Season; it'll be because they decided to let the starters rest and get strong for the Playoffs...
...And I suffer weekly with the Jets and Giants... :gaah:

arntufun

Don't worry Bob, I'm a Jets fan and have been waiting since I was little to see them go to the Super Bowl. I was not around when Joe Nameth did it.:popcorn: I don't know how much more popcorn I can eat. :gaah:

Patience is the one virtue that none of us can wait to acquire... Isn't that one of Holly's "thoughts for the Day"?

I can see I am "out of my league" when it comes to technical stuff about football. I like the weekly games and have my favorite team (Green Bay Packers) since I am a former Wisconsinite.

I am going to leave the technical stuff to you experts. :2thumbs:

Football is NOT about experts... It's just about folks with Uhhhhh... "Energetic" opinions! :roflblack::thumbup:

Green Bay ain't a bad choice for Cheeseheads! :D
