Don't use a simple trickle charger. Use a more sophisticated charger, suitable for AGM batteries, that is intended for motorcycle use. Battery Tender is a good brand, as are Accumate, Optimate, and Xtreme. There are others, too.

I live in Quebec and my Spyder is staying in my non-heated garage...I added stab, parked it over a thick rug and I have the cover for inside storage...Now, I called the dealer about the battery and he said to remove it. This is a pain in the butt as I am mechanically handicapped and it seems very complicated...is it an option to just hook it up to a battery charger all winter? I have seen one at Canadian Tire that has a solar panel that you hang by the window...are the battery + and - easily accessible without removing panels? Please advise I just don't want to have to buy a new battery in the spring! Thanks!

PS: Put 10,000 km on it this summer including an 8 days trip- best summer of my life! :-)
