I entered my Spyder in the Most Beautiful Bike Contest on a forum and was crushed by the competition. The category was touring and sport touring and going in I thought the Spyder was way better than the others, boy was I wrong. :(

Granted, the forum is general type of forum not geared to a particular model, but gave it a shot anyway. Yes, one of the votes for the Spyder was mine. Are we so far advanced with our Spyders some people refuse to accept us, or is the Spyder just a toy ??? :dontknow: I know I do not have the best looking Spyder out there, but I thought I would do a little better than I did with the competition I had. :hun: Last place is unacceptable !!! :lecturef_smilie:

I think they call that a low winner now. :p

Really who cares? I can own or ride anything I want (except a 600hp V8 Chopper for 90K :banghead:) and hands down I would pick the Spyder over any of them. It's like the big city folk don't understand why I would move from San Diego to little ole Mosheim TN. I'm fine with them not getting it, if they all moved here I would move and if everyone rode a Spyder I would be looking for something else to ride.

After having the opportunity to visit your place in Mosheim, I sure as hell can understand why, Lamont.:thumbup::thumbup:

Why would you even think that your Spyder would place in that contest? If that's the picture you submitted I would have put you at the bottom of the list too. First thing you need is bags, you're not showing any, next is some sort of wind protection like a fairing or touring windshield, you don't have those either. The Victory is a true Touring bike and the crotch rocket at least had bags. If you want to place in a contest like that buy an RT or at least put some bags on it Bro. :doorag:

Also keep in mind where you take the photo.. Backdrops have a lot to do with what catches the eye.. I entered my 97ACE Bob, in a contest, out of several hundred entries, got in the top 10.. No to bad for work in progress..36275. Besides most folks don't have a clue what a Spyder is. Other than a pesky insect that scares the :cus: out of'm:yikes:.

As I started reading your post, I was thinking wrong bike for the touring crowd. The Harley and the Vision are true touring bikes in the configuration shown.

You might have had a better chance with an RTS compared to the RS, as it is more "touring". No criticisim of your ryde of course--just the wrong contest.

Thank you, I never thought of the pic with trunk open. There was no money involved, but if you won your bike would have been pictured on a 2013 calender and I wanted to represent the Spyder world.

I thought about asking for help a month ago but I wanted to see how the Spyder would rate without outside influences. Also I thought it would not be a classy move on my part if I asked for people to go to another forum to vote. That would not be fair to Lamont and my home forum.

I was thinking the same thing. We all know that there is a frunk but most of the world doesn't. But let's face it if you can only post one photo the Spyder doesn't look that good with the lid open. Now if you could do a combo photo showing the Spyder and the Spyder storage that might work.
