This is the third longest railroad trestle still in use in the world, GPS coordinates 39.075333,-86.854378. Greene County Road 480E runs under the west end. I'll try to get pics posted tomorrow.

John and I found the trestle yesterday. (john took pictures and said he will post) It's in the middle of nowhere but a fun ride on a great day. It's kinda fun flying through the woods on those narrow county roads. We only had about a half mile of gravel for that little excursion. John wanted to go meet a mini barn maker that necessitated about 5 miles of gravel. Again, its kinda fun feeling the spyder shake it's moneymaker:ohyea:.
Some of you local riders ought to join us sometime.

Good ride yesterday, this trestle used to be the longest in the U.S., close to half a mile, and over 100 feet tall. It's around 100 years old and still in use. To give you an idea of what's happened to our dollar, it only cost a little over $250,000 to build. Pics in Solsberry trestle album.

I'll have to put this on my list of places to visit. I'd love to see a train going across.

From the road we were on getting there, it's kind of hard to grasp the scale of the thing, until you figure out it's half a mile away, and still HUGE! On Google maps, you can see it's shadow in the satellite picture.
