Well today we received our welcome package from BRP. What a major disappointment. A box full of advertisements to hand out for the manufacturer. Not one single useful piece of anything for the owner. What were they thinking? Guess what I am thinking?

What were you expecting?

I was not expecting anything, and it would have been better if I got nothing. The money they spent on the package of advertisement, could of been used for something better for us the consumer.

What did they send you with the welcome kit for your Chevrolet? If the gesture does not please you, toss it in the trash with the junk mail, but it beats nothing...or monthly flyers asking you to buy another new vehicle...the typical fare. To be honest, the brochures come in very handy, but I guess you guys want more...which we will all pay for in the end. Silly thing to gripe about if you ask me. nojoke

I really did not want more,if fact nothing would have been fine. I did just as you said ,it went into the recycling bin. Did you not think the money they spent,I know its their money, could have been used for some thing that we all would have been glad to have.

Many of us, as proud and happy Spyder owners will use whatever materials they send to further the knowledge of the Spyder for ourselves and others. Apparently you didn't see this, so what you did is the best thing you could have done.

Did you keep the registration card with the pin # so that you can register with BRP as an owner?

I gave out the flyers to interested parties with my first and second :spyder2:'s. Was not a advertising spokesman for my third one. I do answer peoples questions though.

I am surprised that you have found the time to come in from the City Park / 99 per centers and make your complaint that you are owed !

I got mine today, also. I wasn't expecting much other than the owner card and the patch. I just recently read about the mileage pins here, so I'm looking forward to collecting a couple of those...

IMO that was a petty rant for something that was free to you. Toyota did not send me anything but my payment book when I bought my 30 + k $ truck. If those kinds of things bother you, the Spyder's learning curve will drive you crazy.

:welcome:and I hope you will love your Spyder as much as most of us do.

Maybe it's just me; but when I got my packet I was tickled pink! The brochures were quickly handed out to anybody who seemed just a wee bit more than politely interested, the picture went up on the wall of my office, the patches got sew on and I was in the mood to turn some wheels! :2thumbs:
But if you want to whine; that's cool too! Just send me the brochures so that I can pass them out!

I am a new spyder owner, however, I am a pre-owned Spyder purchaser, therefore, I didnt get a patch, or a poster, or anything else. I would love to know if there is a way I can either post purchase these items, or get linked up with BRP to be the "official current" owner of my spyder.

Just trying to learn more about what is offered to the people in the community! I love my new ryde and the thrill of the open road again.

Of all the vehicles, tractors, toys, tools and other major purchases I've made over the decades only once did I receive anything. It was a tin of chocolate chip cookies ... And it came from the dealer.

I can always use patches or pins. Frame the picture and hang it in the garage.

I don't remember what i received from BRP ,that was over 3 years ago, But 8 days after i bought a Tri Glide, I received a package with pins patches a card with #'s for free towing, free subscription to their monthly magazine, And a road atlas with state maps, and the phone # hours and location of all Harley dealers.
If BRP wants to send something useful, It should be a Atlas with all their dealers locations and phone#'s :dontknow:

That's simply not true. Many types of opinions pro and con are on these boards.
But when something that is perceived as extremely petty pops up you can certainly expect opinions coming back that might be a tad bit defensive.
I think the type of answers that were given back in this case were well deserved.

Wow. Can't believe someone would complain about getting something for free. I actually enjoyed getting my package. I have the my Spyder RT Limited personalized picture hanging where I can see it when I'm not riding. I haven't used the patch yet but the pin is on my riding jacket. I keep several of the foldup flyers on the bike. It makes fuel stops go quicker when I run into a very interested person with lots of questions.

What did they send you with the welcome kit for your Chevrolet?...

Well, Scotty, didn't buy a Chevrolet. But I did buy a Ford Explorer once. They sent me two very nice folding chairs. I was impressed. Until I realized how dangerous the Firestone tires were that came on the car. Obviously, the chairs were for sitting in while Ford tried to figure out what to do, and what kind of very low priority they could give to current owners needing replacement tires! :D It took about a full year for Ford to get that mess straightened out. :lecturef_smilie: Some of us consumers have loooooooong memories about such things.

Sorry for the hijack!

Because I have my Spyder!!!! What more could anyone want???

OK, maybe the RT. Even though it feels big to me, it's perfect for 2 up. And that's what we mostly do. I've been eyeing the RT lately with envy. But, not going to happen. I'll have the RS probably until I can't ryde at all.

I don't know, I kinda liked mine. Both of 'em. Took a while for them to come, but it was kinda fun when they did. Came with my owner card so I could register with the machine, a nice pic of my Spyder, some cool patches, pins which I wear on my jackets, and product info cards which frankly help a lot when I stop for fuel and get the inevitable questions.

Everyone is different on this I guess, but I thought it was nice... The free first services would have been even better! :roflblack: I like the idea of the road atlas as well.

I agree! BRP could have used the $$$ they spent on the welcome package a lot better than they did. The size of the package certainly did belie it's contents. It was much to do, about nothing. :(

I probably got some free stuff with my Spyder too. But everything goes to the dealership in Florida where I bought my Spyder because that is where it was first registered. I hope they enjoyed all of my free stuff! :gaah:

Regardless of the OP's tone, I find the post strange.

My welcome 2010 kit included a pile of handout brochures, but I also received a small poster, a Spyder Patch and a Spyder pin.

I wonder if BRP is no longer handing these out the same way they no longer include hooks on their mid panel access covers?

Just a thought................................
