hitch questions

Bought a hitch for a 08 gs sm5. Got the lead from a few members. Hitch is advert on e-bay from Quebec. Problem being is when you bolt this on your license plate tags are gone ( hidden ). Perhaps a reason for concern. Curious if others have had this issue ? Have sent concerns to seller as well. Thanks.

I have this hitch, and have no problems with the tags being covered. Could be because the tags in California are on top of the plate.

License plate is easy to read but tags are on the bottom. Stopped by the local police to question them. Would get busted for an obstructed plate with the hitch on and no trailer. Do not want to re-locate the plate and make it look S----Y, so may just have to undo the 4 bolts and suck it up each time I want to use the hitch/trailer..
