Hi Paula,
First welcome to Spyderlovers. The ride is open to all. Joan, my wife, rides a Spyder while I ride a Victory. As I stated there are 10 rooms reserved under my name with more available if needed, just tell them you're with the Spyder group. Last year there was 6 or 7 Spyders in attendance. I'm hoping for more this year. While there is no set plan yet, we'll arrive sometime on Friday, have a little greet and meet and maybe go to dinner. We will do the Tunnel on Saturday morning, leaving plenty of time for everyone to do they own thing after. The Tunnel ends in Cross Village at Leggs Inn. Leggs has some of the best Polish food anywhere. Last year after we had lunch we continued north and crossed over the Big Mac as some of us had never ridden over it on bikes.
Hope to see you there.

Working on it, Bob...after I address yesterday's failure of our A/C. Probably be next week before we can firm things up. I have a list of a number of other color tour roads in the area, too.

AC failure? How did I miss the announcement. When did AC become an option on the Spyder.........:roflblack::roflblack:OK, smart guy! The good news is that a nice, sharp tech rolled into the driveway before lunch. He had a start capacitor on his truck. Upon replacing it he knew just by the sound that something further was amiss, so he proceeded to clean the evaporator coils. We're back in business...and the work was reasonably priced. I could have done it myself, but I would have been until next week getting the parts and coil cleaner. A sharp tech is worth every penny!

"It is in the 90s here today...no day to be without air conditioning," said the spoiled old geezer. :roflblack:

We would love to make this trip with you guys BUT we are setting up a ride here in FL. Called Coast to Coast sunrise sunset on the 24th with the back up date of Oct 1st. Oh our ride go's from Daytona sunrise to Cedar Key sunset around 250 miles. Maybe next year you could put it out a little eariler so we could get time off from work to do the ride. Cj is from Tolodo, OH and now that she has her own ride { 2011 RS SE } she's all for it. Have a safe ride an show us some pic from the ride.:2thumbs:

Sorry about that! what I ment by earlier was put it on the thread as a reminder so i can remember to schedule my vacation time off, that way I can do two things at one time. 1. Take CJ by her moms in Toledo. 2. I'll have a good reason to leave Toledo :yikes: her mom can't blame me for not staying longer.

As Anne stated there is no time table to sign up. I have 10 rooms reserved under my name, Bob Stein. When you call give them my name and mention you want to be with the Spyder group. When I called to set this up they told me if more rooms were needed there shouldn't be a problem. At last count, there are 7 or 8 confirmed reservations.
Hope to see you there.

We're glad you can join us. There isn't any thing set in stone. I would imagine by the time everyone gets up and has breakfast, it will be some where around 11ish. I think Legs Inn doesn't open until around noon. That's where we end up and have lunch. But the plans are open until we get to Petoskey and we can get input from eveyone.

Hi Bob,

Unfortunately we cannot make it to the "Tunnel of Trees" this year. :( Nancy had to have hernia surgery last week and I think it would be just too far for her to go. I hope you guys have a good turn out and great weather for that weekend. Have you and Joan decided about your rides yet and what you will be doing as far as adding mods to the Spyder or going for the RT?

Have fun on your ryde and will be looking for pictures.

I've reserved a room for Friday night. My boyfriend and I will be joining everyone for the ride Saturday:D. Looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing the fall colors. This will be the first time he will be riding my Spyder, fingers crossed that he will like it.
On another note I saw a few Spyders at Bikes on the Bricks in Flint last weekend. Wondered if any of them are on here. The police escorted ride was awesome and my 14 yr old nephew who rode with me thinks he is the coolest kid ever now. Here is a video of the bikes going by
http://youtu.be/0U7zZbbGITg I'm the white Spyder RSS that goes by about 7.5 minutes in.

Rachel, :welcome: thanks for posting the video of your ride. I had no idea that that was such a huge ride! We had a charity ride in Grand Rapids on Saturday or we may have gone to Flint. I think I counted 7 Spyders - not a bad turnout.

Everybody enjoy the trip this weekend have a great time.

We ended up delayed about 5 hours but arrived in Petoskey around 6:30 PM.

The dealer didn't have a GPS in stock and they only had one RT in their showroom so they wouldn't take the GPS off a donor bike.

They were able to clear the codes and get it running so after consulting with Lamonster, we decided to go for it.

The BMW and Spyder are at the ready, stabilized and hooked to the chargers, but ready to take advantage of this incredibly warm winter weather. I rode the Spyder Christmas Day, but the BMW has been lonely this year. I may sell it in the Spring and get a dual-sport or adventure cycle. No time to ride now, anyway. I am in the midst of a major bathroom remodeling. I may sneak in a ride late Tuesday or sometime Wednesday, though, while my thinset cures before I can grout.

Lake Michigan view from Legs Inn.

Was just invited to ride the "tunnel of trees" in the fall. Goggled it, and found the top picture. Thought it looked like you.......magnified it and then knew for sure.

Sure looks like a nice putt.

This is a terrific ride but I don't think cindi & I will still be here in Michigan at that point in time...We hope to be in either Louisville, KY or Eastern TN by then...I would encourage anybody to make this ride...The scenery if terrific and you can't beat the food.
