I was told by a Harley rep, and also heard others being told by Harley reps that Harley will have a spyder out in the near future. The rep was tell Harley believe it could be a 10% increase in their total sales.
It will be interesting to see.

Let's see, the Triglide is a mere $38,998, so the Hardley (a) Spyder would probably add $10K, for a $48,995 tag... IF they use the decent Revolution motor (V-Rod), it might be a good contender, if they try to shoehorn the usual 1940 motor into the bike, it will deserve to rust on the showroom floor, like the Triglide....

it seems to me they would use the v-rod motor, since water cooling would allow for some snappy bodywork. isn't it also about 100 h p ? wow a harley spyder.when rich uncle ben leaves me 900k, maybe. ins. would be 3k.

Looks like a giant GIVI Hard Bag! LOL. I agree Ron. Good one. BTW, I need to reorder some filter kits.

I am guessing a lot of people will watch this with interest.

I am in total agreement that the price will probably be near $50K.

The engine used will also be important.

If they try to throw one of these together using warehouse parts--I do not see that going very far in sales.

I looked at the brand new TriGlide when they came out--but ended up buying the RT-S for 2010. IMO: I got a lot more bang for the buck.

No problem with the filter kits. I got them ready to ship. I'm also selling Amsoil for the Spyder at my dealer cost if you're ever interested. :ohyea:

In this case the 4 wheel KTM is much better than the 3. :ohyea:

At least you don't have to worry about the rain/snow, and I want the 4 wheel KTM :ohyea:

I would imagine HD would use the V Rod engine because an air cooled one would fry inside of bodywork. Also the V Rod engine is quite small when you take off the pretend cyclinder valve covers.

With all that I do not think that a HD Spyder would have any of the computer improvements above what a typical TriGlide would have ie just wheels in from versus wheels in back, add a lot of chrome and basic black or candy color paint. Also without a true long term commitment by HD I would not want to invest thousands of $$$$ in it. From what I have seen from BRP they are in for the duration since if the Spyder fails commercially they may also go under. HD could just as esily decied that it wants to go in another direction. The same is true of BMW and it's prototype.
