Who makes the best highway pegs? Does someone make one that bolts onto the exsisting footrest? I do not like the kind that attach to plastic.

IMHO, Lamonster does but they aren't in production (yet?)

I just got my first test units in today and I'm not happy with them, too much flex making them out of billet. I've got another thing to try but these won't go out to the public till I'm happy.

Just got back from SITR, and looked at all the current options - floorboards, "cruise pegs", etc, and none cut it. Not a one. Everything is too short. The scuff guards, and Lamont's edition are the best available, and they JUST work. Something farther out would be better, but there's nothing solid enough on the RT to support anything there. My son puts his feet on the "A" arms…..

Here is my setup with KewlMetal brackets and Kury mini boards. I have short legs and can stand on these comfortably for miles, raising my butt off the saddle an inch or two to get the blood and air flowing again. Allows me to ride tank to tank. Very sturdy.

At 6'8", you can put your feet anywhere you want… besides, road pegs are for empty roads, which we have a lot of…..

Mark;

Anything inside of the airwings is too short for me. Saw & tried lots of those and similar options. Long legs and big feet arn't compatible with the current choices.

I have the same setup and pretty close to the same position of the ISO Wings. I really like them in the fact they allow me to stretch out my legs. However, they are not good for keeping my feet on for long term riding. In order for them to be strong and support your weight the mounting frame is bolted to the engine mounts. This transfers engine vibrations to the foot pegs and there is no way to get rid of it no matter how configure the ISO Wing position. I can take about 15 minutes of the "buzzing" before I have to move my feet back to the main pegs.

I saw Lamonts highway peg design at Spyderfest last April. I wasn't sure I liked his design at first because they would flex with excessive foot pressure. On the positive side the mounting of the pegs are completely isolated from the engine mounts eliminating the posibility of engine vibrations transferring to the pegs resulting in a comfortable location to place your feet on long rides. Not sure how his current design is on strength but I am sure they will support your feet just fine. I just need to understand that they are not designed to put all my weight on them. Looking forward to when these get released. I would really like to have a set of buzz free highway pegs.

The RT is another matter. Can't get away from the heat on the Right. How does those webbbed ones on the "wing " help, do they keep your feet out of the heat?:hun: I Love those on my RS don't know if I can transfer them to the RT. Looks like the Right one would REALLY put your foot in a REALLY hot spot

Here's my setup, kuryakyn long pegs, BRP mounts. I haven't found them that comfortable because of the wide spreading of you legs. 2957629577

Hello Lamont, I really like where you have decided to place your pegs. I currently just rest my feet of the wings butt have often thought that I would like to rest my feet just a little further out. Your design fits the bill for what I am desiring. Looking forwared to when they are available.:2thumbs:

I've not used those too much, but they were about the only game in town when I bought them. They are not designed to hold much weight, so I didn't find that they really helped me stay in the saddle (get some weight off my butt from time to time). I do like the looks of them so kept them on after installing the KewlMetal ones.

There are pegs, there are floorboards but look at what I found. Obviously they are not for everyone but I sure am glad that I found them.
It gives me a multitude of positions to rest my tired feet on long trips. Not just one spot like a peg. Plus it does give my "Whyte Steed" a look
that is unique don't you think. People ask me "Are you allowed to land this thing anywhere you want?" My reply,,,"Yes, but I prefer when there is pavement".
I can litteraly stand on those. Talk about getting noticed. Two different media interviews at the same time at one rally!!!

Hope the pictures work!

Thanks,

I'll try again later.

Bluestratos, the only place that I know where you can get them is from Loiselle's Sport in Embrun Ontario.
Are they in production? By hand, one at a time I'm afraid! I was the second purchaser
after the owner to get them installed. Now I'm sure you want to know the price. Well,,,
please pm me and we'll discuss. I would have to talk to the dealership before posting too many details.

I wish I could post more pictures but I don't understand why one worked but the rest won't.

I like the concept but they have a look of a sandbox waiting to be filled (gravel catcher). Do you find that to be the case? Also, are they above the 4" belly bottom?

I like the kewlmetal solution. use Harley pegs on them... works great. with the engine bolt clearance fix for the 2010 done there is little vibration...

reason is that it allows me to keep my heels on the OEM footpegs and my toes rest on the highway pegs... with that position it takes very little time to roll my feet back to the brake or shift levers. I feel safer not having my feet so far from the OEM footpegs in emergency.

Hi Yol Bolsun,

I never had an issue with sand or gravel building up. I've driven a lot in the rain and dirty weather with no problem but have to admit that I've never ridden on gravel roads.
There is a space between the big gray side plate of the Spyder and the boards in the lowest part. Maybe that is there for that reason.
You're right about VTC but I didn't know that. Actually there is no manufacturer name of any kind on mine.

If you take a look at the first of the four last pics I posted you will notice that you can still see the belly pan underneat the Spyder. So I would say no
they are not below the 4" clearance.

As far as other brands looking better well what can I say,,, I bougth those because I think these look better. I think they match the lines of the RT very well
and they don't look so "Hand Made" that's all. To each his own!!

I have to agree with clueless on the position of your feet. That is a critical issue. (Unless you have the hand grip brakes installed). Of course I don't put my feet on the boards
when ridding around town or heavy traffic.
