HOT, HOT right foot and lower leg

I searched back several months and could not find anything. My right foot and calf get extremely hot when riding.:yikes: I had a Fan Cam (or maybe it is a (CAM FAN) put on at Spyderfest and I still have so much heat it is not comfortable to ride even if I put long pants on. If I wear shorts, look out cause the right calf is fire red and burning hot after a few hours. Has anyone found a good solution for this. I know it has been an unseasonable hot summer, but I normally don't mind riding in the heat.... but not this year. I live in MO. Thanks:helpsmilie:

The 'Y' gaskets as Lamont said may be the culprit.

I had the same problem when my Y gaskets went bad. The right side was very bad while the left was in fairly good shape but I went ahead and replaced it. This made a BIG difference. I would also reccomend that you add the right side heat deflector that connects near the right foot peg sold by Spyderprops. I added my own last weekend and rode about 30 miles in 90+ heat with tennis shoes on. My foot actually felt cool :ohyea:. Before It was getting hot with good boots on.

I have about 2500 miles on my spyder, and the heat is really bad. This is the first summer, and was thinking it might be normal. Could the Y gasket go out this soon?

I bought header heat wrap and started at the exhaust port on the head and wrapped all the way back to the the bend of the muffler. I painted the tape with
high temperature paint (500 degree). It still is warm, not hot. I installed new gaskets from Honda, and am waiting to receive the air handling system and install that. It should take care of the
dreaded 'red leg'.... I hope....

I have a 2009 SE5,had the same problem. I installed 1) the missing air dam 2) the heat deflector and 3) the air management system by Spyderpops. Sunday,my display showed 104 degrees and my foot and leg was very comfortable and my bike rain 4-5 bars all day long. I would recommend installing those improvements!

I changed my Y gaskets at around 2500 miles...they were probably about 70% gone.

If they're fine, you'll still get some heat when the fan kicks on at 5 bars, but it's tolerable. I usually wear shorts with shoes and can feel the heat...but, again, it's not that bad...

In the am I am going to put the bike up on car ramps an get under it with the engine running to feel for exhaust leak as I also have a very hot foot.

Don't need to jack your Spyder up. Take off the right middle panel below the seat. Make sure the engine is cool. Start the engine up and cup your hands around the pipe connection held together by springs. If your y gasket is shot, you'll feel air coming out from between the pipe joints.

If you look on the right side cover close to where your knee is while riding,you will see the outlet that the hot air coming through your radiator exits. Well,this is where some of it exits.. There is a deflector inside this side cover that directs the air to the outside. The problem is,the deflector isn't long enough and half of the air exits the side cover and the other half follows the inside of the cover and out the top and against your leg. The air management system consists of a longer deflector you add to the existing one in the cover. Now,all of the hot air exits the hole in the side cover before it gets to your leg. Also,you add a small scoop vent in the belly pan cover to allow fresh air to help alleviate the hot air around your exhaust pipes while you are moving.Google SPYDERPOPS for information...It really works!!

Have you checked your Y gaskets? Y gaskets were changed a bit ago at my favorite Cuba dealer "Cowtown" I even put on a Fan Cam during SpyderFest and that is not doing it either.

I also have the fan can + added the Spyder pops cover and followed there instructions on removeing a bottom cover. Now I have no problem at all. Can ride in comfort. Just got back from Lake Placid New York . A 2,250 mile trip in highway heat registering at 105 with no problem eith bike temp. Very very pleased with that a ragement. need any other info PM me. Bob ;)
