I love the part of " orange cones were flattened as the police officers practiced..."

$40,000 each for all the goodies (cameria, LED lights, radar detectors, etc). Wow.

$40K for police accerssories? Boy, am I in the wrong business. That is about what they pay for a police cruiser--with all the equipment attached up here.

I am wondering if they meant $40k total for each vehicle--police accessories included.

Someones brother-in-law is doing well, but in all fairness living in WV they'll just spread the wealth by putting it right back into the economy via the gentleman's clubs. :roflblack:

That is cool to see spyders being used in commercial environments.

The radar and lidar equipment would add a lot to that $40,000.00 tag. But what was not stated is that WV has not used Motorcycles in like 30+ years. This will fill gap in their road fleet.

"Wednesday, the officers will review safety procedures such as how to approach someone who is pulled over and how to use the bike for cover during a shootout. They will also be timed while they complete a course of traffic maneuvers and if they hit any traffic cones, time will be deducted from their scores."

:yikes: Bulletproof Tupperware? :dontknow:

"how to use the bike for cover during a shootout" So when can we expect the up-armored RT? :yikes:

I dunno, $40k sounds about right. The equipment that goes into a cruiser is north of that. Stationary and mobile radar and lidar... the motorola trunking radio system is easily $8k and that's for the big one, a compact would be more money for less features. Cameras, comms, gps. Haven't even got to the lights and sirens.

What I really care about is what did they do to the bike itself... Cruisers have beefed up suspensions, transmissions etc. Any changes that WE would be interested in?

back in the day... it didn't run that high to set up a patrol car. but today... 40K might not be too far off.

the Ford dealership I work at is delivering basic patrol cars right NOW. I'll find out what it runs to set up a fully operational veh.; when all is said and done.

once you've cuffed them... where do you stuff them? the drunks that is... ;)

What gets me is that they paid $27,700.00 for the RS. At least they had good taste in the color

That was my wonder. The BMW authority bikes add a larger alternator and an extra battery.
