Ron,

Do you sell any mesh pants (with hip/knee armor) that look like street wear somewhat? I have Joe Rockets mesh which would be okay; but, they are XL and baggy.

Just purchased dragginjeans, which look fine. But, today was 84F and they got pretty hot.

Just wondering.

The short answer is yes.

The less armor you get the more they look like street cloths. There are Overpants and there are Riding pants. Riding pants are designed to be worn alone. Riding pants are typically cooler than Overpants simply because there are less layers.

You may want to look at the new Mesh Tex pant by Firstgear. It has a bit less armor than the Mesh Tex 2.0 (Previous model) but it is designed for a more upright riding position, it will be somewhat cooler than the Mesh Tex 2.0 and it looks more like street pants and less like motorcycle pants.

I've got these for $144 delivered (List price $169.95) I've pictured these 2 pants below so you can see the difference. Basically, you'll find the Mesh Tex 2.0 riding pants discounted and the newer Mesh Tex touring pants will pretty much be at list price.

Be careful. Some vendors take advantage of the name similarities to sell you one for the price of the other.

You might want to go to the Firstgear Web site. This will give you information to get the pants that will work best for you. http://www.firstgear-usa.com/Pants/CSSHTOverpants.html

Some are waterproof, some are not. Typically a waterproof garment will not be as cool in hot weather as a non-waterproof garment. Some pants have removable liners, some don't. Just depends on what you want the pants to do.

I still have the Firstgear Mesh Tex 2.0 pants in most sizes for $79 delivered (List Price $149.95). These are the ones I wear. A little more protection and great for mild to hot weather. They don't look like street pants but they aren't too far off.

These are the New Mesh Tex pants I described above (replacing the 2.0 version pictured above).

I still have a few of the discontinued Firstgear H/T Overpants for $129 delivered (List Price $179.95) Don't be fooled. Just because something is discontinued doesn't mean it isn't a great product.

The New H/T Overpant is $179 delivered (List $229.95)

The New H/T Air Overpant is also $179 delivered (List $229.95)

The New Mesh Tex Pant is $144 delivered (List $169.95)

It was actually showing between 86 and 88 on the spyder display. It actually felt hotter.

:roflblack: And the debate rages on!!

Seriously though, First gear makes excellent stuff. I wear their products with absolute confidence. I'm still going to that TPG suit from ya, but now that it's warm I have some time to save up for it. I just can't bring myself to get the Thermal suit; people will keep trying to push me back into the ocean!! :roflblack:
