We are looking for travelers heading back home (or wherever they need to go Sunday and be back) going thru Missouri and going towards Memphis or Jackson TN. Please reply this thread since our Memphis :spyder2:rYders have left already.

Thanks!

FYI, in case you don't know and might take this route. With the closing today of Highway 63 near Black Rock, AR, (levee broke near Pocahontas flooding unusual areas) there is no route from the Missouri border, all the way south to about Bald Knob, AR across the Black river.

You should definitely stay in Missouri until you reach I-55 going East.

We haven't left yet but we pulling ours..... we're staying on the mo side until we reach 55, had no problems coming that way so we're taking the same route home.

So we left Cuba, MO heading to Memphis at 7:30am... wanted an early start to take care of things and go to work the nest day.

Pulled off on Pacific following what the GPS told us and saw that my new floorboard was loose. Luckily another biker (not a :spyder2:lover but just coming back from off-roading) pulled over and had the wrench necessary to tighten the floorboard and went our way up to Festus (where we stoped at Lowes and got a wrench just in case it went loose again).

Made it trouble free to Cape Girardeau for lunch and a fill up. Once we got into Sikestion we noticed that the rain was turning up so we pulled in an overpass and suited up into our rain gears. But as soon as we started taking off, Gray the :spyder2: was having issues taking off... Would be reaving up at 7500 rpms and hardly getting to 10 MPH...:dontknow: Stopped and let Gray:spyder2: cool off for a minute. Started :spyder2: again and went off with no issues. Got into rain (heavy) coming into the I-155 interchange... :spyder2: became a See-Doo on a couple of times:gaah: and the rain would not stop!!! But made it safe to Dryersburg, 25 miles off the interchange. Filled up again in Dryersburg and changed socks. Once we got out of Dryersburg, Gray:spyder2: started to struggle, seemed like :spyder2: was getting weaker. Pulled over and started doing the same thing as when leaving Sikeston. This time, cooling down would not help. Eventually :spyder2: gave me the orange engine light but never threw a code. Turned off and on again and did not throw a code, but still struggling. A good samaritan helped us escort us into the next town as I got Gray:spyder2: to go on 3rd gear at 45 MPH but no more than that. Finally, after I got some DOT-4 fluid and oil (oil was a little below normal level but clutch was at level), Gray:spyder2: would only make us go 5 MPH on 6500 RMP's in 1st gear, and noticed that when stopped, if I pop the clutch at a gear (1st) it would not kill the engine but try (very weakly) to forward (does the same in R). Rain got a lot worse, even tornado warnings came up so we seeked shelter in a Verizon store on the parking lot. Meanwhile, being an hour away from home, my wife got a hold of some friends and they came to our rescue. As I waited for a tow truck, our friends took my wife and our luggage back home.

As I could not get a hold of the dealer and knowing they are not open Monday, Gray:spyder2: sits in my garage while I have a big question mark on top of my head on what happened and what did I do.:hun::dontknow::(

But hand in hand, I have to say that this was an amazing experience and must say, both from my wife and myself, that we enjoyed every minute of Spyderfest and meeting everyone as if we where one big family!!!:firstplace::yes::clap::congrats: to everyone who made this happen!!!

I just wish this would had happen near Cowtown...:gaah:

BTW... we did not go to work today!:lecturef_smilie:
