We're getting hit hard again here in NE Oklahoma. And the front is moving upward along the route to Cuba so the weather will be traveling with me.

There is some flooding. So I am going to hold off until later to make a decision. It was supposed to have abated by this morning. Plus my house sitter is a little iffy as well.

Big sigh.

man, Mother Nature sure has been letting us know who is Boss around here, hasn't she? Go with your gut instincts, Doc. I found that 9 times out of 10 your gut is correct. Good luck.

It should be hitting Cuba right now as the tail still pounds where I am. At least it's fast moving for it's size.

We had some light drizzle this morning and some clouds. Hasn't slowed down the spyders much--they are out and about everywhere

Hard to judge. The weather maps shows a solid front from here to there.

I cancelled tonight and hopefully will leave in the morning.

Stop watching the weather and just hit the road. It's been raining most the day on and off - but nothing bad at all.

You guys act like you've never seen a little rain before.

Wow. I don't need to be ridiculed.

There has been extensive flooding here and loss of life. I ride in the rain all the time but I don't deliberately follow what appears to be a severe squall line all day or ride through flooding I wouldn't do it in my truck unless it was absolutely necessary.

Expected better from you guys.

I just spoke with several of my relatives back in the storm area;
as frustrating and disappointing as it may be
IMHO..... you'd do well to stay put.

Good news is my cool new bifocal motorcycle sunglasses (recommended on the site) arrived.

So this old codger can see his Garmin now and still keep tomorrows blazing sun out of his eyes. :roflblack:

I hope it is good natured ribbing because I canceled due to the weather and I know that this is where I am supposed to be right now. I work for a medium sized Daily News paper and three Daily newspapers within 100 miles can't print due to the storms either damage or power outages. That is quite a wide spread area of damage one community south of Tupelo was almost wiped from the face of Earth with seven dead out of a community of maybe 4 - 5 hundred.

I would love to be in Cuba having a good time but there is a lot of destruction and loss of life in this area and I made the right decision to stay home. This easily could have been my family, friends, or property.

I say all that to say do what is best for you.

I have seen on our news how much rain you guys are getting and the floods and tornado damage . Let your instinct be your guide If you go have a safe trip

I agree 100% with you. I also would expect better understanding by fellow Spyerlovers. You made the right call. You don't have to prove anything. Live go ride another day brother.

No ridicule here. I made my decision to cancel based on what I saw the weather pattern was going to be while trying to make it to Cuba today. I don't have any flooding or bad weather near me right now, but would have driven through it all day if I had tried to push it. Hopefully things will clear up for you and you will be able to make it there for at least a day or two. For me and my work schedule it just wasn't in the cards this year.

Best of luck with the serious weather problem in your area. I am praying that everything turns out all right for you.

The news and weather stations tend to sensationalize things - the sky is not falling as they seem to be saying on the news.

I think much of the ribbing started from those trailering (which generally draws ribbing to begin with;)) that were cancelling because of the weather. Many just seemed to jump on the cancellation bandwagon after that. :sour:

By all means - judge what you feel safe riding in and your ability before hitting the road - just sad to see so many cancellations when most of the weather can be detoured around.

The radar looks good within a few hundred miles all around Cuba.

On a happy note--- the cancellations allowed Scotty to show up for the festivities!

Various BRP people also showed up just in time for dinner tonight--- and they rode Spyders in from Canada...

No offense guys--- just some good natured ribbing...

I feel lot better now that I got hold of my friends in Bham and Huntsville. It's been a real tense day. We should all be thankful.
