Bad News:
Went out this morning and took the cover off the Spyder only to find some idiot hit the left front fender. It had to be someone who lives here in the complex but I didn't see it happen so the police had to write it up as a hit and run. Parts alone will be almost $400. I have not had it for two months and I need to deal with the insurance comapny.

Good News:
I took it to a Can-Am dealer and the mechanic said no other damage but the chipped paint and bent fendor so I am good to ride both Warrior's Watch missions this weekend.

This has been a bad week for me. I hope next week is better.

Thanks Ford, I really like the white as well.

Looks like it will be about $400 in parts to fix it. If my insurance is going to raise my rate I might just bite the bullet and buy the parts so I can repair it myself.

I will let you guys know what happens.

Your insurance company should not raise your rates for damages when you are not at fault.. mine never has and I have been hit as you describe a couple of times..... don't automatically pay out of pocket without checking.

Thanks for the advice Doc. My real problem is that I have a $500 deductable so I am screwed. $375 for parts and do it myself or $500 to go through the insurance company. As far as I can tell it is all cosmetic so maybe I will see if I can get the paint fixed.

Chris, did you do the WW ride today? I was thinking about you while I was riding to work in the rain. It was nice meeting up with you yesterday. If you decide to do the repairs yourself .. I'll give you a hand .. been there.
Ride Safe!

Karen, I did run the mission for Marine Colonel Ernest Brydon today. I found out that my rain gear is not very water tight in the nether regions and I need better gloves. Thanks for the generous offer to help with the repairs but one of the guys on today’s mission told me that if I had not pointed out the damage he would not have noticed it. I think I will save myself the money and maybe just get the paint touched up.

See you in the wind.
Chris

No luck finding touch up paint but now that the initial anger has worn off I am fine with it. If I find the paint or not, I don't really care at this point because no matter what it looks like, as long as I can ride it, I am happy.

Maybe when I sell back some Vacation days at work I will buy the parts and do it myself. Well not really by myself. I will ask Karen and her Husband to help.

Thanks for the support everyone.
