Well today I finished the backrest setup for my lively wife. Oh and mounted the ISO 6341 Black Grips as well. Pics below for those liking pics. Couple of thoughts...

I do not fit in the co-pilot seat. :sour:
The eBay trunk is cheap ($99) and worth the effort to at least try. and that is what this is. Just a try. If it works and my wife is happy, the plan is to find a nice used GIVI or something of actual usable long term quality.
The KewlMetal luggage rack is well made and worth the cost. I have no wants or desires to even think of another system. If I was to improve on it, it would be to allow for one more inch of adjust-ability (To the rear) so bigger folks like me have a chance in double hockey sticks to fit. Please see my other thread (Here (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25408)) for thoughts on the installation process.
It is not as fugly as I thought is was gong to be... But it is still ugly.
Only one full sized (Mine is a large) full face helmet fits in it. And laying on it's side to boot.
These are NOT water proof.
It is rather flimsy... So long term the mounting holes will fail. To lengthen it's service time I used all the larger supporting brackets.
You get what you pay for...
In one photo you will notice four bolts coming up from underneath with a lock nut on each of them. The idea here is simple... When not ryding two up, I plan to remove the trunk. So what I did was lock the main bolts to the KewlMetal rack and when I want to remove the trunk this makes it a simple for me. I open the trunk (Other photo) and remove the four nuts and two plates from inside the trunk... Then slide off the other two plates and the four spacers protecting the finish of the Luggage rack. Bam... Done... Four bolts do remain.. But this is not a seat after all... So I see this as a minimal cosmetic item.

I think it looks good for the price you paid. I wonder how well it will do filled up with ice and some beverages? :D I know a Givi did quite well in Daytona set up like that.

I know this is a bit late in the conversation but there was/is another option... albeit a bit smaller Givi. Nice option on those midrange over night trips. Comes with mounting brackets. :dontknow: Givi travel truck 4 Spyder/Kewlmetal luggage rack combo. (http://blackwidowaccessories.com/proddetail.php?prod=2100)

I do like the looks of your setup...no question the lines match the Spyder. Well done! (I don't see any guardian bells hangin' low.)
