This would be a great motor in the Spyder :2thumbs:

Man, what a beast! I like the way you think man! :D How much do you think that engine weighs? I believe some chassis/suspension tweeking would be in order...

Only problem is the spyder being able to put down that much power...

But... I like it anyway so it would be awesome.

Nahhh... it'd be way too heavy and would screw up the handling. I'll stick with only 100hp and a nice light and compact V-Twin.
But that's just me and my low-performance line of thinking...

While we are dreaming about V6 and V8's I would think the only way to make that extra HP/TORQUE usable is to go to front wheel drive.
The rear end would be much happier just to go along for the ride.

Featuring a 2442cc v-6 developing more than 240 hp and 160 lb/ft of torque, the Midalu is expected to weigh approximately 600 pounds

If the whole bike weighs 600 lbs I don't think that will be a problem.

I think if BRP had to make a move they would probably choose the 1125r
rotax used on the Buell....it's a Rotax, it's paid for and it's not realy in action...
If i personaly had the choice ,i would prefer the V4 apprilia, small, light and just the right power

I say 3-wheel drive where the power is dispursed equally until you get going above 20MPH. Then we get Bias towards the back for better handling.

:dontknow:
But with front drive you eliminate the belt and all the nonsense that gos with it. ie, noise vibrations stress on well bearings,
And then you can use that 36mm socket for a door stop.:D

It would be awesome if it were a ROTAX :yikes:

BRP already has the basic parts needed in their Comander UTVs to build a 1000cc V-Twin all-wheel drive vehicle.. Give them a little time and they could probably build a 3X3 Spyder...

This would be my choice for the Spyder RX version, if they ever decide to make one. They currently have X versions of all their other products, so perhaps in a few years they will make one for us.
