Went on a beer run to get some "Blue Moon"...So I took a detour to Wallyworld. I practically destroyed the R/C section. I handled every R/C car in search of the elusive spyder no luck at the first stop then went by Target no luck there. So I am on a mission tomorrow, to visit every walmart and target in the area..

WOW these New Bright RC Spyder are AWESOME looking (did not open a box yet). I went to 3 walmart and found them at only one. They had only 8 on display they were in red and yellow only and I asked the manager of the toy department if he had more and is there another colors and he gave me a long story/history on New Bright and there RC toys, the short of it is if you want one run and find them as they will not be around for long so I bought 4 for now.

No luck anywhere. All of them carried the New Bright branded RC toys.

Just got back from my local Wal-Mart. As of right now there are none in stock yet but I gave him the barcode and he looked it up and it shows they have 22 coming in sometime this week. The Walmart in Jane, Missouri currently has 29, they're in the back in boxes.

It helps if you print out the UPC code (earlier in this thread) and take that with you so they can scan it and see that they really do have them on-hand, then they'll go get them for you.

If you see an RC toy labeled as 27MHz but it says something like "Play with up to 3 vehicles at once" then what you have is a toy with selectable channels within the 27MHz range. The manufacturer rarely specifies what those specific channels are but if they use standard color coding, you might be able to figure it out:

26.995 MHz -- Channel 1 (Brown)
27.045 MHz -- Channel 2 (Red)
27.095 MHz -- Channel 3 (Orange)

If your getting more than one make sure they are different channels. The offer 49MHz and 27Mhz. Once I get mine I'll probably convert it to work with my high end radios and gear and post it as a project showing how I did it.

There is a sticker on the side of the box with the channel. I think the red and yellow color of the Spyder indicate different frequencies but be sure to verify the frequency sticker. Otherwise you cannot run them at the same time without serious problems- it resembles a DPS failure and limp mode with backfiring all at once!;)

I found a rack full of em today in RTP, NC. I'm here on biz and don't have an easy way to carry them back with me otherwise I would have picked up 2.

Personally, I would choose 2.4ghz with a Futaba line of servos. I could easily use either my Futaba 14mz or my Futaba 3Pk. Both are on 2.4ghz.

Along with my Align 450Trex, 500Trex and my two MA-Fury's.

Wal-Mart in Jeff is at the corner of Stadium Blvd. and MO Blvd. I am not sure where St. James is but if you come in on Hwy 50 from Hwy 54 take the Dix Rd. exit, make a left at the light then a right on MO Blvd. and Wal-Mart is maybe a mile up the road, if that :D

Went to WalMart to look for R/C Spyder. Couldn’t find one, so I went to customer service. Thanks to Omeobe, I showed them a copy of his receipt. They looked on the computer and they said they had 28 of them. So we went hunting. They were stored way up high in the xmas decorations area. The guy got a ladder and got one down for me. I talked to people at my nearest store a couple of days ago and they had 28 in the stock room. They are aware that some stores did not follow policy but they called me today and said that I could come and get the ones I asked for 2 red and 2 yellow and they are different frequencies. My best quess is that Walmart stores will stock the sales floor on Sat. evening for the sale. I would think that as large as Walmart is that they shipped the spyders to all store and the quantity would depend on the store size and sales volume. Good luck to all and after you got your own dont forget the grandkids (ha ha)

I would be surprised (pleasantly) if they appear in all stores. Walmart's ads vary regionally, so not every Wally World has the same sales or promotions.

[Questions]

Usually the ads pertain more to seasonal merchandise and the different areas that we live in, hopefully that would not affect the spyder and also with the toy season arriving. The different regions would be more apt to have different pricing tiers. I have confidence that everyone will be happily surprised if they check the stores this weekend.

I drove down to Coldwater, MI tonight and stopped at a Walmart with barcode in hand. Looked all over and found someone to help me. She was able to scan the code and determine they have 18 coming in-- probably within the next 2 weeks. She was really helpful and took all my info down and said she will keep an eye open and call me when they show up....

She was also able to check other stores--- she did a 150 mile radius from Coldwater--- and NO ONE HAS THEM! Zero. Nada!

The top one--- UPC-A scans just fine at Walmart. Never tried the other one. You can just go to one of the 'check price' things and scan it-- but all it will tell you is the price. Handy to have for someone to scan and check inventory.

The rhodesian ridgeback got a workout from a lengthy game of chase.

I got a workout simply 'cause I crashed & burned for about a half-hour straight.

I got it to flip quite a few times, but eventually got the hang of reverse Js. I was able to initiate severe wobbles in reverse, and from the appearance of skittishness, am happy that our full-sized versions don't lean.

My rider and bike have road rash.

Went to the Salinas Walmart and they did not have any. Asked them to call the store in Marina and they had 22 of them. Sue said well we might as well go over there "what's another 12 miles" we already went 50 so far. Went over there and found the display "wasn't with the other toys, they put them in an entirely different part of the store. Then I called SLO and he said he wanted one, so we picked up another, Sue said well we might as well call him and see if he wants to meet us half way. What is another 30 miles up the road. So on to Gilroy we go & meet at the Arby's, had a nice visit and then 75 miles back to King City. At least we got home before the Sharks hockey game.

Got 2 of them, one in each color. Found them at the Wal-Mart in Columbia. Yeah... Uhm, about that. We all kinda knew that you played with barbies, and as an unspoken hobby, we were ok with it. Now that you are out in the open with it... well, it is just weird man.:shocked:

Found two yellow & one red in our closest Wal-Mart. I wanted the red - but, after I looked at it several times discovered some blemishes on parts of the Spyder. Box was not damaged....just looked like poor quality pieces were used to build this one.
They did tell me that they have seven more red Spyders in transit.

So, I tried another Wal-Mart in the area while out & about - and hit pay dirt. They had an entire stack of yellow & red stacked in the middle of the aisle on the way to the toy section. Picked up a red one to match my current Spyder (it matches until I get my orange custom paint job).

Make sure you look at the bike closely to make sure you don't have a broken tail light, etc.
Anyhow - still trying to figure out how to charge the Spyder battery. Looking forward to playing!

i went and picked up my R/C Spyder yesterday evening...brought it home , opened the box and started the customizations...removed the new bright stickers...removed the rider(to prepare for painting)and cut the fenders to match...i'll have to make a pass. seat cover. I'll post pics once i have it complete...a true replica of my Spyder!!! :2thumbs:

Betty is our fourth and she could care less about a ball. Her philosophy is You throw it; you can go get it. But our other three Cassie, Daisy and Mattie all were tennis ball fanatics. Cassie was also a great ball hockey goalie.
