Yes, Firefly did when he had some work done on his. He said there were no problems ryding it like that, but it did get even more looks than it normally did.

I drove without a hood after I hit a deer and it would grab some air and channel it in there, was not too big of a deal. Why are you looking to do this?

The engine would run cooler for sure. Probably less stable at speeds due to lack of downforce on the trunk.

I can't say I noticed any difference---other than you don't have to worry about bottoming the front of the trunk out--- so it does allow for a little more fun on crappy dirt roads..... rode mine for around 300 miles like that....

WHY WOULD YOU ???????????????????????

WHY WOULD YOU ???????????????????????

Many reasons----

I was working on some mods and couldn't finish them all before a ride--- no sense putting it all back on when I'd have to pull it back off again. Up here in MI our nice riding days are coming to an end--- so we take em when we can!

I also prefer to take my spyder to the dealer stripped down --- I've got many special mods hooked up that I don't want them messing with to remove the trunk and other panels.....

And lastly--- because I CAN! :D

It's not gonna hurt anything riding that way.

I never drove mine without the trunk but did start it without it on. I had it off to do a little work on it. While running it without the trunk "check engine" was scrolling across the instrument cluster. I thought I had screwed something up. Put the trunk back on and the message went away.:dontknow:

I asked as I am going to get the new DSP unit installed and don't want them pulling it apart just as Firefly said and before you all ask why not use my trailer it's much easer at the moment as it's already pulled apart.

I am thinking of doing the same thing when it comes time to get ours done as well. Unless they will do mine this Friday morning, as I have a few more lights to install this weekend.
