So I should be getting my baby tomorrow...

Who would you suggest for insurance? What kind of coverage? What kind of deductible?

I have contacted Geico - they offer $564 for the year. That's the only one so far, and then thought about asking fellow Texans.

Thanks in advance!

Check with State Farm. I've always found they had the best rates.:congrats:

I use Progressive. They seem to have good rates out in Utah. Have fun on your new :spyder2::spyder2:

I went through USAA to Progressive (USAA doesn't do boats or m/c any more) and got their "preferred" rate. $1200 a year WITHOUT uninsured/underinsured! The dealer recommended a broker in Spring who got me a policy with Foremost for 1/2 the price WITH ui!
Search the forums and you'll find a lot of discussion on insurance. Use with a grain of salt, each state has it's own rules and each county has it's own rates. FWIW, Harris County used to be one of the highest for insurance in the country right up there with LA. Probably still is. Not sure about San Antonio but it sounds cheaper.

Geico. $250 deductible.

I tee-boned a deer on my Harley and my wife got rear ended by a car. Both times, the Geico rep was at our place to estimate damages within 24 hrs.... the estimates were very accurate and we got paid quickly.

I use a broker called Ball insurance (http://www.ballins.com/ (http://www.ballins.com/)). My insurance is a little over 300 per year on my 08 GS. Alstate wanted 900 a year...

My buddy called them for a quote for this Screamin eagle and tri-glide, and they cut his insurance in half. He was with progressive and ball insurance went with progressive, but at half the price for the same coverage...

:congrats: on the new :spyder2:. Us Texas guys will have to get together and ride...

Thanks!

I'm in Bandera county, and this is what I found out so far..

without uninsured..
Geico - $564
MRA - 570
Progressive - 440 (with uninsured, it's 880)
Markel - $810

I have to call State Farm and Allstate, so I'll probably do that on Monday.

I had been with progressive for several years but found better rates this spring with foremost.

Good luck!

Foremost thru AARP gave me the best rate..$774 a year for full coverage...almost half of what others quoted me and Michigan is a no-fault state.

Got a bunch of contacts (Progressive is too expensive) and all the others so far quote me a good price, but then I found out that uninsured motorists are not included.

does anyone know what pip is? Is it important?

I promise to have insurance before I do a major ride.

Thanks to all!
