View Full Version : Oeversee Dealership?

Hi,

I live in Europe. Thus, if I ever buy a Spyder, a trip to the shop won't exactly be a short trip. I live in Denmark, and since there's no Spyder dealerships in my country, the nearest is in Oeversee near Flensburg, Germany, just south of the Danish-German border. That would be appr. 180 miles from where I live. Quite a ride, eh'? Now, as much as I want a Spyder, I'm worried about the distance vs. the quality of the dealership.

So... I was wondering if any Europeans here could give me a heads-up on whether the service there is worth the trip(s). I asked the guys there if they spoke Danish too, and none of them did - and to make matters worse, they only spoke a little bit English. And I don't speak German, so that's just thumbs down!

Does anyone here have any experience with this particular dealership?

Sincerely,

Thomas

Unfortunately, I'm not on a Spyder yet, nor will I be for at least a year. Gotta turn 18 first :gaah: Anyway, I suspect riding in Denmark is quite different from riding in the States. I have this idea that drivers are much friendlier compared to US drivers, and there are nearly no cases of road rage here. It would be my pleasure to show you guys both photos and footage of DK riding, had I only a Spyder (and a license, haha).

This post is all about whether I should get a Spyder or not, when the time is right...

Yeah, there's plenty of work to do before you go and buy a Spyder! :agree:
Haven't seen any Spyders on the Danish roads, or any roads for that matter. I'm still waiting for my first Spyder sighting ...

You wouldn't by any luck have some pics/vids taken from your Spyder on the mighty American freeways? Haven't seen any footage off the FL roads - yet :helpsmilie: Found a good hour of New Hampshire riding ...

...pretty awesome relaxed ride, gave me a better idea of how the Spyder acts on the road. :2excited:

PS. Thread back on track: Any experiences on the Oeversee dealership?!

Don't get the wrong impression about US drivers. Road rage is not all that common. I'm 1,000 times more worried about the drivers who aren't paying attention than the road rage people that may be intentionally out to get me.

Might be. And with the seemingly rising population of DWI (drunk/high) drivers on the roads, it's probably not exactly getting safer day by day.

Uhmm .. Still no reports on whether the Oeversee dealership is a keeper or not. :helpsmilie:

I think road rage is mostly around the big cities where people tend to be more uptight in traffic. I don't see it in the forest where I live. I have a few pics when you go into my profile. Need to get out and take some more. Think I'll do that today. :doorag:

Wow, seems there are more Spyder dealerships than I thought! They've still avoided Denmark though :helpsmilie: lol ..
Thanks for the tip, Nicko! Swedish dealerships are overpriced compared to US dealers though - an RS-S costs 175.000 SEK, which - according to fresh currency rates from XE.com - is about 138.000 DKK, which is again $24.000. Now, BRP's official market price for the RS-S is 18.799, which means that you are paying a good $5.000 extra. Add to that the 180% registration tax that Denmark uses. This thing is getting EXPENSIVE!

Again, thanks for the help though! You've shown me dealerships I didn't know even existed. They would definitely be an option if I lived in Copenhagen.
Do you know if the dealerships around Malmö and the very southern part of Sweden are any good? Any reviews?

dol;
It was nice meeting you at the Candlewood Suites!
In my opinion, you do as well with writing the English language as a lot of U.S. residents!
Keep the posts coming!!

Oh, yes, dol - I almost forgot to thank you. So: Thank you! Belgium is too far away for me, but many other Europeans might make good use of your suggestions. Thumbs up for :helpsmilie:-ing!! :2thumbs:
