I removed the pad from the parking brake pedal and bolted on a piece of strap that extended out about 1.5 in with a 3/8" hole out there. Then I attached 12" x 3/8" piece of all thread to that. I slipped a piece of plastic tubing over the all thread and painted it all black to give a finished look. On the top I mounted an after market shift knob from Auto Zone that attached with a nylon sleeve and tightened by 3 screws near the base. Those screws needed some thread lock to keep them from working loose.

I now can reach down with my left hand and apply the brake. Works very well for me. Some one posted a more elaborate handle some time ago. It looks very good too and was part of my inspiration to build my own.

I have very weak knees and this is a big help. I have the SE5 so the parking brake is essential.

I finally learned how to add a pic. Here's what I did. It's actually all black despite the reflection from the flash.

Good idea--- I'm sure many would like such a setup.

Sounds like a good job for ISCI !:thumbup:

That's brilliant, RoadHammer. Very neat. I love the bends so the rod follows the body work. :2thumbs:

Cheers;

Thanks, a machine shop should be able to do that for you well under a 100 bucks, thread the top of the rod and put any type of decorative shift knob you choose or just about anything that's threadable.

When I polish up the rod it looks great. I get comments on that every single time someone chats me up about the spyder.
