Does anyone know if the problem with the shocks has been taken care of by BRP? Went to pick up bike and yea busted shock. Call BRP and they are no help said the dealer had to take care of it. I think I may have got a lemon for a bike and the best part is that VA has a lemon law. Don’t get me wrong I love the BRP but I have owned it for two months and it has been in and out of the shop most of that. I have already made two payments and haven’t been able to enjoy it.

I'm not sure how you think BRP is going to fix your Spyder, is it in Canada? They use the dealer to fix your Spyder, that's how it works.

What model and year is your spyder? Brand new or used?

What exactly is the issue you are seeing, please explain and describe a little more.

I have read threads about shocks breaking when they are adjusted... is that the issue you have?

Cheers.

Some people have broken the shock adjuster on their Spyders, and they have been replaced under warranty. Would you call the manufacturer if your car had a busted shock??? Or would you take it to the dealer to have the shock fixed :dontknow: If your unit is under warranty the cost will be remitted to the dealer by BRP. If your unit is out of warranty the cost of a shock adjuster and labor for replacement is not a wallet draining thing. Since you say you are making payments, I am assuming that the vehicle is still under warranty. Sounds like a dealer problem rather than a Spyder problem. In most states the dealer has 3 tries to correct a problem before the lemon law can be used.

I have not heard of anyone busting a shock other than the adjuster, which is a ten dollar part. To change the adjuster you need a tool to compress the spring. This is roughly a twenty dollar item. This should not be a big deal for most dealers.

:agree:It's a dealer fix. An easy fix at that . Something else going on??

Ok guys i am not that dumb if you read my last post you would under stand. It is the rear shock on the new RT.

The old post that i put here.

I will start this from the start of my spyder purchase. I bought the new Silver 2010 RT from a dealer here near Woodbridge Va for those of you from the area Know the dealer. The first thing was when I bought it was told it was the model with the radio on it. When I picked it up, they sent a guy out with me to show me the bike. My ten-year-old daughter knows more than he new about the spyder RT. When he was showing me the bike he let the seat up once he figured out how to and was talking to me about the things under the set the gas tank. I asked him what was the air valve for he said it was to fill the shock and I did not have to worry about it they did it. Notice I said the shock not the air bag. Well that was during the last week of March that I bought it. I rode it two days and then my wife and I got on it for a ride. As we pulled out of the house, we went over a speed bump and the bike rubbed. I new that was not right so I turned around and went back home, read the manual to be sure the weight limit, and found the part about the air bag. I also have them on my truck so I told her I would be back going to fill to the right PSI. I put it up to 60 PSI and all was good I thought. The next morning all air was gone so to the dealer I went. I dropped it of on a Wed they called the next day and told me they ordered the parts and they should be in by the weekend. Three weeks later, I got my bike back after calling and venting to the owner of the dealership that I told of all the problems I was having. The best part is that I had to call them to see what was going on with it they never called me. The day I had enough was the day I called and asked if the part was in and the service guy said yes but I do not know how to bill it. Keep in mind all of this is still under warranty. After calling the owner they had, it fixed in about one hour funny how that works. Got my bike was happy until now. Dropped it of for 600-mile service last Tuesday the 4 of May. Told them need to have the 600 mile service done, check the brakes they are squeaking and the shock in the back was making this loud popping noise when I hit a bump. The service guy said will have ready by Friday so I told him I would be out of town will pick up Monday afternoon good. Well plans changed called him Friday to see if bike was ready he said on the rack now will be done by afternoon so I said good. Well begin in the military this change every second so now I am going out of town so I called him and said I will get it Monday. Showed up today and yes you guessed it not ready only changed the oil so far. Told me sorry SIR will try too get it first thing in the morning. I guess what I am saying is help CAN-AM put some dealers in the area with people who know the bikes and will help with all of the problems that the VA people are having with dealers around here. I will tell all of the VA spyder rider do not go their or you will have the same problems I did. If I have to drive it 200 miles I will never go back their again. Sorry so long had to get it out there.

They are going to put another shock on it and see if it happens again so I guess we will wait and see if it works out this time. But I have told the dealer that I am not going to do this too many more times. Good luck with your issues!:chat:

Well here we are two weeks with the RT still at Coleman Power Sports in Woodbridge Va waiting on the shock. I hope that they get this shipping problem and the problem with the shocks worked out soon. But the good news is that the dealer said he would give me a demo to ride to Rolling Thunder if BRP still didn't get the shock here in time.:clap:

At least you won't miss Rolling Thunder. The Harley Davidson in Dumfries is one of the staging areas. Anyone else leaving from there?

Why are they (the dealership) haveing a problem getting the rear shock?
Mine has gone through two replacements and no problem getting the rear shocks just trying to get one that will last seems to be the biggest thing.:gaah:

Dealer told me today that BRP is sending them a new shock for my RT. Basic 5 speed model whatever it's called. I Told them a month ago the shock was bad. Also told them to order me a new valve for the air dampner, figure if the air was leaking that's most likely the problem. I guess I'll have to pay for the valve but I figure it's an insurance policy. Got about 3200 miles on the bike, just sitting here now waiting for the mailman.

It is really funny I am the only one in my area that is having problems with my shock. I was having issues with the dealer got all of that straight. My first thought was it was them then we had a long talk and Gregg and Jose at Coleman Power sports they have been great to me about the bike. The sales man James said to call BRP myself every time I call them they say the dealer will fix it>. I am about to just tell them to sell it and bye me something with less problems to. I love my bike just wish they would correct the problem. The problem is when you make payments and you pay so much for it and have these problems then it makes you wonder about the product itself. If anyone out there can help with this it would be great. :chat:

Seem I too am having a problem with the rear end of my 2010 RT. It wont hold air. I pumped it up to 50 psi (with a hand pump) and 30 min later it was 0 psi. I guess I will have to take it into the shop to get it fixed.... this is pretty sad... I enjoy my commute to work one hell of a lot on my new :spyder2:... Im going to hate leaving it for a week so that the shop can fix it.
