Anyone know what the diameter of the front tires (RT-S) is? I've been looking at tires of the same size (165/65R14) and would like to be able to compare diameter.

Thanks

What is the best tire to replace the original front tires with, something like a sports car tire with a good wet road traction and good sidewall handling?:chat:

Here's a good site to look at to compare different tire sizes.

Found a set of Falken Ziex ZEi512 175/65/R14, 175 is 10mm wider than the stock 165, these are high performance tires rated for handling and wet roads,$62.00 each, no shipping. Thanks for Mike 3069's reply and great information about the Falken tires.

I was told, by the dealer, that the factory front tires are designed to flex. Changing them to a car tire will change the characteristics and handling greatly. That's what I was told, how true that is, is another story.
However, the REAR TIRE can be changed to a car tire. Just my 2 cents.

I put the Falken Ziex ZE 175/65/R14 on our spyder with 25 lbs air. Original tires had a huge amount of weights and Ride on in them. Had fender, mirror vibration, with the Falkens hardley any weight, no fender vibration, no mirror vibration, handles better in the curves, much smother on the highway, power steering seems easier, I am sold on the change for $32/tire no shipping.:2thumbs:

Extracool,
Did you mount the tires yourself? I asked my dealer about having him mount my tires (purchased elsewhere) and he quoted $25 per tire. I may also buy a new set of wheels from him so maybe I can negotiate a better price. If you had someone else do the job do you mind telling me what it cost?

Thanks
