i liked the way RT's headlight looks so i got some covers from F1 but did not like the outline of clear cover against the black tupperware so i painted them partially. i will most likely paint around the headlight lenses in silver to mimic RT. spyder looks like it's mad doesn't it?:D

Very nice. I used to hate cleaning the bugs out of the lights on my RS. Wish I would have had something like that back then

That looks very nice. Couple of questions:

Did they just stick on?
Did you notice any reduction in visability at night?

Might have to pick me up a set of these.

Did you get the windscreens with the kit?? If so why didn't you install those as well?
I like the look of the covers...

double sided tape and it was painted on outer edges only so it does not interfere with headlight. once i decide whether to paint inside or not i will crazy glue them or something. i will have no need to take them off.

just marcel but you know, now i look at them, i think 1/8" plexiglass from homedepot cut to size will work fine. that was my original plan but when i ordered the slider windshield, i just said "at least i will saving on shipping"
:D of course these are like 1/4" thick and much stronger but it's so small that 1/8" plexiglass may hold up.

by the way, you will need a heatgun as these do not fit the curvature of tupperware flush.

it's 6pc set.

and that spyder is marcel's exhibition spyder i think.

My bad----
I think you're right.

So you got the clear instead of the smoke and then painted them?

I wonder how much of a problem they cause at night?

The smoked ones do look pretty sharp.

marcel said smoked ones are just for show and they WILL be illegal in most states. i think he said 70% loss of light.
i did not like the clear lenses sitting on black tupperware so i just painted edges. it also hides the double sided tape/glue.

Those are really cool. Hopefully a more reputable dealer will start marketing a similar product.

Numerous people on the other forum will agree with this. I've heard long wait times and products that don't appear finished. My dealings have only been with
the evoIII slider and I tried contacting marcel numerous times with no avail. I got mine pretty quick but when I put it on the curvature of the shield didn't match so in tightening the screws down, I got a hairline crack. Then a few months later the hardware for the slider rattled loose and I had do do my own work.

He's taken money from people and not delivered expensive products... like $ 5,000 products ! Doesn't return emails, calls, etc. He sold 'vaporware' items that he had not actually made yet.

Snake oil salesman who actually made a few decent products, but doesn't know how to run a business or how to deal with customers--- in particular after the sale!

i don't think marcel is a crook but just don't know how to run a business and he stretches himself too far and he does not have good employees which are his family.
it's a mom and pop type of company where marcel does the work and his wife does the paperwork. i have talked to his wife few times and she is very nice but does not have a clue and marcel not only does R&D and production, he is on the track racing alot so his plate is full. i have a feeling IF they have a computer, it's a x386:p

the biggest problem people have F1 is that they are very hard to get hold of. that's probably a very very big understatement thou. they rarely pick up their phone and never reply to emails and voice messages. now when i do get a hold of someone, their service has not been bad but usually takes 50 phone calls...

my first slider had problem with sticky sliding mechanism so i called him and after about 60 calls marcel picks up and i tell him the problem and he sent me another windshield without a question.

on the 2nd windshield i just got, i was promised it will be shipped 7 days after my order was place but it was not. after like 50 calls, his wife picked up and she apologized and had it shipped 2nd day on the 11th day.

BUT it should not take 50 calls to reach someone to begin with and no return calls and emails will hurt their reputation. at least they switched to paypal rather than your credit card charged to some company in another state... i don't know what that was about.

Tinted headlight covers are illegal in most, if not all, states. If you want to ride it, I would suggest the velcro. Not sure how they compare in looks or performance.
