Well I've been busy, and I've been spending some $$$! This is a preview of what I've finished so far. I'm almost complete with this upgrade. I just have a couple more items to add. I'll post the rest of the pictures once it is all complete.

1st this is my spyder before the additions.

These are the Oxford heated Grips that I installed, which replaced the Symtec heated grips that I had. The Oxford heated grips I find much better and very well built units. Notice the controller box with on off button and four position heat settings. Each heat setting has it's own color LED display. I installed these without to much trouble, but you had to work fast with the epoxy that holds them in place.

http://i530.photobucket.com/albums/dd343/vtrider_photos/My%20Spyder%20upgrades/Spyderupgrades003.jpg

I also added a Powerlet socket, which is switched once the ignition is turned on. In this location was the Hi/Lo rocker switch that I had for the Symtec grips. The hole on the panel that was left from the switch once removed was just the right size for the Powerlet socket. So I got lucky there. I do plan to add a second powerlet socket on the opposite side of the panel, which will be unswitched 12V. All my electricals are connected to a Centech fuse panel for now. I hope to change the Centech to Eastern Beavers PC-8 fuse panel, which is a nicer unit.

I also added a tank bag socket which is powered by the powerlet socket that I added. With this setup I can use the SAE power connector inside the tank bag to charge my cell phone, camera ect. At present I'm using this connection to power my heated jacket and gloves when needed. I have an adaptor for this that I run through the side port on my Cortech tank bag.

These are some pictures of what my spyder looks like now with the new ISCI floor boards with extended shift and brake levers. I also added the Canam Givi bags with the ESI led kit. I have a new Corbin seat with backrest, all color matched. I won't be using the backrest much for myself. This will be used mainly as a passenger backrest. But I do like it on the front though. I find the seat setup to be an improvement over the stock seat. It's real comfortable for me. Also notice the new spyder and web side cover grill. This was purchased from Kewlmetal. I think it looks cool!

What--the backrest isn't heated?!

(Geez, you'd think you live someplace cold...)

After that 'sticky' install of your new grips, I didn't think you needed a Throttle Boss, just one of those drag parachutes to deploy to slow you down. :D

Vtrider, everything looks great, but why are you changing fuse-bus?

No real reason. The Centech is still a nice fuse panel. What I like about the Eastern Beaver's new PC-8 though, is, each of the eight circuits both unswitched and switched have there own fuse and the whole unit in more waterproof. The Centech has eight connections as well two being unswitched and only five fuse locations. this is eastern beavers comparison.

Nope, No heated seat and backrest! I do have the Tourmaster Synergy heated jacket liner and gloves. I will be getting heated pants and heated socks. This should keep me pretty toasty on those cold days in the early spring and the fall. Did I forget anything?

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I'm still waiting for a couple more additions to complete most of my upgrade. Today I'm having a new Kuhmo rear tire installed at my dealer. I'll post more pics once everything is done.

I don't think I can take time off for the end of the month, which is this weekend. I've been busy and working weekends. I do however plan on ging to the Americade maybe for at least one day maybe two. Where are you guys staying again? Keep me posted on any plans.

Well, It was a sunny cold day here in the north after a rainy and snowy weekend in some places. I was however in the mood for a nice ride after work, so I dressed warm and headed north to the mountains for a nice cruise to Jay Vermont. I wanted to take pictures of my final upgrades which I completed for this year and thought that some snowy backdrops for the pics in the month of May would be something that is unusual, even here in Vermont and something that I would certainly remember. Anyhow here are some of the pictures that I took late yesterday of my spyder in the mountains.

These are the picures of my new smuggler trunk with the passenger seat section removed and shown along with my other addons that were shown earlier in this post. With this setup, If I need to take a passenger I will just take the trunk off and pop in the seat and backrest for the passenger. So far I'm real happy with my upgrade. It's real comfortable and convenient for me. In my next phase, which will maybe be next spring, I plan to add an AM/FM receiver and a GPS system.
