I took my RTS in for its initial oil change on Wednesday and while I was dropping it off I told the service person that when the fuel gauge was showing close to the red area of the gauge and I went to fill up I could only fit 15 litres into a 25 litre tank. They checked out the resistance through the wire to the gauge and it checked out within spec. They then contacted BRP and they told the service person that the gauge shows a 15 litre tank with a 10 litre reserve. Do we really need that much leeway on the gas gauge? I will be disconnecting the wire to the analog gauges soon.

you will like the results, I had my dealership do it for me,and i love seeing the temp gauge also in a digital layout, the colors

will change to orange if the temp rises.

. Gonna wait for some factory gauges to become available for the voltage and oil pressure. (are you listening BRP) Get working

on these accessories and do the change on the 2011 model year!

I love the digital guages. I disconnected mine at Spyderfest and will look into adding additional guages in place of the stock ones once I figure out which ones I want, probably ammeter and oil pressure or a/f ratio

My dealer gave me a set of snap in caps to fill in the hole(s), temporarily, when I remove the gauges. I installed a Voltage Gauge (Teleflex Morse Signature series) this week and really like being able to see the state of the battery as I cruise along. Tapped into the ground and switched wires when I removed the fuel gauge. (Orange wire for the fuel gauge light is the switched wire and the black wire on the tripod that attaches to the original fuel gauge is my ground wire.)

I went through a catalog with the guy from the local marine shop and he originally ordered in one with a domed glass and black backing that we had picked. It came in the next day, but he was not enamored with it so he had his supplier send him another one with the silver backing so I could look at both units to see which I preferred.

Here is a picture of the gauge mounted in my dash where the fuel gauge was removed.

I vote for an altimeter and air speed indicator. :roflblack:

 We're gonna need more air speed than that, though, this ain't no Piper Cub! :roflblack:
