Finally got a digital camera and took some pictures (not very good ones) of the new RT. It's dirty because I rode it to the dealer in the rain this morning for the 600 mile service and then rode it back home on wet roads this afternoon. The silver doesn't show the dirt too badly which is good. I'll get it cleaned up tomorrow if the weather is okay. Otherwise, it will just stay dirty until the weather clears up.

I still haven't learned how to post pics so go to my album if you want to see the pictures. Is there anywhere on site where I can read about how to post pics? I'm sure not a good photographer but this was the best I could do for now.

On the plus side, it's very good in the rain. The fairing works really well. Between the fairing and some decent raingear, my hands got wet but that was all. There are times when you just can't keep it out of what I'll call the water tracks on each side of the lane where the water tends to collect and run. Sometimes it's just impossible to keep one or the other front wheel or the rear wheel out of the water. I tried all over the lane and couldn't decide which was best. A few times the rear tire wanted to hydroplane and spin. The traction control or VSS shut it down in a hurry. At first I didn't realize what was happening and thought the bike was trying to quit on me. I was thinking this is just great, I get to walk in the rain. But then it dawned on me what was happening and it was all good after that.

The more I ride it, the more I like it.

Thanks for the kind words and thanks, TicketBait, for posting the pics. I need to learn how to do that. And, yes, those are sheepskin seat covers from Alaska Leather. They make for a nice ride especially in the summer. Keep the seat much cooler. They were actually bought for my BMW R1100RT but they work quite well on the Spyder RT also.

Looks good to me. I am trying to decide if I should turn my 08 in on this one.

 I love my Alaska Leathers sheepskins! I have not had any reason to use one on the RTS, however. My main need is comfort, and the Spyder is comfortable with the plain seat for several times the distance that my BMW is.
