The gas guage is so inacurrate that it's virtually useless, so I'm forced to use the trip meter instead.
Resetting the trip meter takes several steps, hitting mode a few times and then the select button and then finally resetting it.
Is there a shortcut I'm unaware of ?

The switch on your left handle bar forward of all the messy switches for the electronics changes displays on you dash. Click until you get whatever trip (A or B) you are using, hold the switch about 5 seconds and it resets to "zero".
But, best of all is for you to read the Owners Manual.

Sometimes no answer is an answer. There is no easier way. A few extra seconds at the gas pump doesn't bother me that much.
