Thinking about installing a cruise control. Looking for input about the Audiovox Ultracruise II 250-1316 Electronic Speed Control Kit. Any info about this kit or other suggestions would be appreciated.:helpsmilie:

Not familiar with the Audiovox, I went with http://www.mccruise.com (http://www.mccruise.com/) & really like it. Plus the support from them is great.

I have installed the Audiovox CCS-100 on an FJR and will be moving it to my Spyder...works great... they have them on Amazon for about $97.... others on the forum has installed the CCS-100 and they have some instructions available for installing it on the Spyder...

The CCs 100 seems to be the cruise control of choice on many motorcycle forums as well as automotive.
It is compact and works great. The only issue I have seen is that it is vacume operated and some motorcycles dont make much vacume.
This is easily solved with a vacume resevoir of some kind (we used to call them "soup cans" on the older fords)

I just fitted it to my Spyder. Here's where you can get the kit with a vacuum can.

It works perfectly. I put these same kits on my Kawka 1400GTR (Consours14) and son's Triumph 1050Tiger. We wouldn't have a bike without CC now as we only ride long straight roads mostly.

Not difficult to install on Spyder. Allow yourself several hours by the time you R&R all the plastic and airbox, have lunch, get interuppted by ya wife etc etc etc. Lamont advised which coil wire to tap into so that bit was easy. The only fiddly (but critical) bit is attaching the cable to the throttle. Pics available if needed.

Thanks, Freddy, I appreciate the info. BTW did you order the mounting kit to go with it? I assumed you mounted on left side. Do you have the SE or SM?

My son made a mounting bracket from scrap stainless steel he had at work. It's L shaped, attached to the clutch lever mount screw and the CC pad sits just under the switch assembly close to ya thumb.

SpyderDeb has one installed on hers. Follow the link: several images of how I positioned the cable and mounting brackets. The #1 post in the thread contains a link to the procedure description I wrote.

I have a McCruise control for a year now, and I think it is the best, however, I have not made a functional compare with others as this is the only one I have owned.
The mfg people are fantastic in support..
I highly reccomend them. tell them I sent you.. and he may say, WHO !! :clap:http://www.mccruise.com (http://www.mccruise.com)

Oh.... It worked from Kissimmee, Fl to LA and return, plus Gatlinburg and return, and it is still working...

Thanks for the info. I now have a unit on order from Amazon. Any pics would be appreciated and more detail on the coil wire. I'll tell the wife to limit the interuptions - thanks for that tip also.

Just finished my Audiovox install... I used a gas filter as the vacuum canister..works great...

You can't see it but there is a check valve between the canister and the vacuum T connector...

A proper vacuum can has a check valve in it so it doesn't drop vacuum as the throttle is opened. Here is my throttle setup. The 2 white cable ties hold the cable/nuts firmly to the bracket. The coil wire for pulse pickup is brown/black found on the coil plug.

Hello Pathfinder. Here is a recent post. Not many posts but a little info of what some of us have. If you haven't done so yet, possibly do a search here on the forum. You will probably find some good info. Best of luck with your cruise control search.
