Folks
I’m looking FOBO tire pressure monitors for my bike - a question: if I use 4 of them, is it possible for read outs for the suspension schraeder valve? I’m new to using these, but at 60 years old it’s a convenient way to monitor psi.

It's a great way to monitor your tire pressure and air bag pressure. They already have a profile set up for that.

So do you buy 2 packs of 2 wheel Fobo packs ?

no theres a 3 pck

Yes, I know there is a 3 pack, but if you want to monitor 3 tires and the air suspension, you need 4 in total, so do you just buy 2 packs of the 2’s?

the 2024 is auto air no need to monitor

Order 4, and beware. They are or can be a PITA to set up. But once they're working they are GREAT. From then on you don't have to get down on the ground to check that dam rear tire. One problem I've found is sometimes they get out of sync and don't want to sync up. Low, but not dead batteries, can cause that. Just slip in a new battery and it will most likely sync right up like they're supposed to. Good luck, great product.

I purchased two, two packs. Works great.

Just curious. I know this is the wrong place to ask but are they worth it? If so, could I buy the set for cars and use 3 for the tires and the other for the rear shock?

The sets for cars work a different way and a different app and don't interchange. They feed their signal to a small separate battery powered block that then bluetooths to your phone.

No, just pony up and go with the motorcycle 4 pack. You don't need the hassle of swapping them from vehicle to vehicle.

Do you need metal air valves?

Do you need metal air valves?

Some people believe so, but NO, normal valve stems will work fine; altho the shorter stems are better than longer stems - they don't let the FOBO sensors flap around in the breeze so much.

no you do not just screw them on

For those of you that have the FOBO2 bike installed for your air shock, what do you set the recommended low and high values to with original tires?
My fronts I put at 20 recommended and 18 low and 25 high, rear 28 recommended and 26 low and 35 high
Just sitting by itself my air shock was at 35, when I sat in the passenger seat it went up to 38, so I set my recommended at 35 and the low at 30 and high at 40. With this one really just want to make sure it goes up and down some depending on load to ensure it is actually working.

Also, with the FOBO2 valves installed has anyone experienced them leaking air?

Thanks

Peter

Have not experienced any noticeable air leakage with the FOBO2 system. I change the batteries in the sensors at the beginning of the riding season, and set the rear tire at 30 pounds, with the low warning at 24 and the high warning at 40. For the front tires, I set the pressure at 20 with the low warning at 15 and the high warning at 26. Last year, over the course of the riding season, the tires lost a bit of air, but not enough to make me crawl under the bike again. When I put the bike away for the winter months, my rear tire read 26 psi, and the front tires read 17 psi. I just left it that way until Spring when I added air and changed the batteries for this season. Best $150 I have spent since getting the Spyder 3 years ago.

I am similar to you with tyres, Hancop, although I have mine set 3 below. With the airbag, I have low at 25 and high right up there at 80, as I know it can reach that with my 300+lbs on the RT. Like you, I just use it as an easy check to occasionally see how the airbag is going. Like Vito, I have never experienced leaking at any greater rate than tyres without FOBO.

In my experience, these FOBO Sensors leak air about as often as a normal tire valve/cap, so you'll likely lose more air when removing/refitting to adjust your tire pressures than you will at any other time... ;)

Altho, I must admit that once they start to get old, and the little 'rubber' cap seals inside the threaded bit start to wear out due to years of use, occasionally one of those seals might be forced into the valve stem around the pin that operates the valve itself, and this will generally start that sender get odd readings rather than leaking air 'out' of the tire. This is probably because valve on that tire is effectively jammed shut, so the tiny amount of air caught between the top of the valve & the sensor itself does funky things! But that did take a looong time/quite a few years before it started happening, so I doubt you'll remember this if it ever starts happening to you?! :dontknow:

As for the bold bit I highlighted above, I don't think 40 psi is going to be anywhere near high enough as your maximum level, but it'll be interesting to hear what you report back. ;)

My reasoning for this doubt - I've seen how high the momentary pressure can reach once you start riding & hitting bumps in the road surface; I think you might be quite surprised at how high that bag pressure can get; and I reckon that with a max of 40 psi, unless they've significantly extended the required 'dwell time' to respond to high pressure readings, your 'pressure too high' warning may be continually activating!! Admittedly, it's been quite a while since I bothered to run a sensor on the ACS; and it's been more than quite a while since I effectively disabled that annoyingly failure-prone & problematic system by fitting a shock/coil assembly that doesn't NEED the air bag to hold the blunt end of the Spyder off the tire, so I can't remember the max pressures it used to frequently reach... but I do remember it being a pain, cos the tiniest change to the 'load' on the rear suspension will cause a significant change in the air bag pressure!! So please, do tell us how that setting goes for you?!

Good Luck!

I installed a 4 set of the bike FOBO’s on a Friends Spyder yesterday. Reverse trike with air shock.
Noticed that the new FOBO’s are smaller than the ones I got in 2017.
Fast and easy, no BS.
