The manual states that the ignition switch must be on for the hazard flashers to work. I asked Lamont about this when I read it, but he was in between RTs at the moment. I checked the demo, and the book is wrong. The hazard flashers work independent of the ignition (with the switch off), as they should, and as required by law. Same as on the GS/RS.

Hopefully there is a run-down protection feature built-in on that... cuz anyone could just come by and turn your flashers on and you could return hours later to a dead bike! That's always worried me.

Lamont--Thanks, man. It'll give me a headstart on getting familiar with the RT while I wait for my RT-S to come. In fact, you may have just given me my first Christmas present! :ohyea:

Yes, it is a worry with all vehicles, but especially bikes. Difference with cars is that you usually turn it on and lock the car, and the battery is bigger. On the other hand, the flashers are most often needed when the vehicle is not running or is not occupied, so I can't really argue with the reason of the law.

That's true. And with cars you don't have to worry about just anyone playing with all the little switches and stuff that are exposed on a bike. Just got to hope that it doesn't happen and people leave your stuff alone like they should. :gaah:

Thanks for posting the Manuel.

I guess I'm nuts, cuz I love manuels.
Everytime I read one, it always tells me something I don't know before.

Thanks Lamont for the RT Manual. So far I have read it several times, but the interestig thing is I had E-Mailed SPYDER TEAM on Nov 23 asking when they were going to post the RT Manual on there Site for the ones waiting for there new Toy. Received the below reply on 1 Dec from SPYDER TEAM.

""Greetings Dave,

I hope all is well.

At this time, we do not have any plans on putting the RT Operator's Manual online, but we'll look to see if this would be possible. With the number of pages, it might make it a difficult task.

We'll keep you posted.""

Best,
Spyder Team

Guess we got lucky. :D

I cannot find the online owners manual from this link. I am looking for 2016 RTS Special Edition manual.

I bet it's a one manual fits all. Just the 2016 RT manual is probably all you'll find.

From this link pick Roadster from the drop down list. Then your year and model. http://www.operatorsguides.brp.com/Index.aspx?lang=E&s1=a4a3c9db-4e38-4136-b1e0-8264b7ac6ad0

I would be perfectly happy with just the 2016 RT manual, but I can't find that there either!

Click the link...then, in upper left, there is a drop-down box where it says "Select One", choose "Roadster", then "2016", then "Spyder".
Then, in lower left section, scroll down to "2016 Spyder RT" and click on the pdf labeled "EN1 - Operators Guide".
