I'm getting annoyed with looking for 75-cents every time need to top off the tires. I was wondering how well a heavy-duty bicycle pump would work when adding a few pounds of pressure or if I need to look into an inexpensive air compressor.

go for a cheap compressor, with the cigarette lighter plug in..

Wow that sucks having to pay more for air than parking.

If you are stopping that often for air, it might also be time to look into using the Ride-On product. :)

:agree: Ride-On is Right On! Have had it in my tires since January. No tire will maintaine constant air pressure, but Ride-On greatly reduces the need to "top out". Also, it's great tool for peace of mind riding...no air pump or tire repair kit to carry.

:agree: We have a product in the UK similar to rid on and since installing over a year ago my pressures front and rear have not changed !!
Dont need a pump now.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going with the Campbell Hausfeld RP1200. Runs off 12 vdc and less than $20.

Just stay away from the Slime compressors. Blew my power port out the first time I used it -- now I only plug it into my wife's car!;)

If you plugged it into the Spyder accessory outlet, that circuit is only 3 amps. The Slime compressor may draw more current than that, but I'm not sure. :dontknow:

Slime is supposed to draw only 3 amps, but I've seen many reviews where they are infected with shorts.
