As I'm in Canada and considering the purchase of a 2017 RTL, I see a front sprocket recall on the BRP website for the USA - https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/us/en/owner-zone/safety-recalls.html but not on the Canadian one - https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/ca/en/owner-zone/safety-recalls.html

Is it something that needs to be addressed, and, if so, are we on our own here or is BRP covering it?

Thanks,
Rod

Yes, the dealers in Canada are doing the recall. We did receive a notice from BRP about it. I'll be looking to have mine done in the spring.

I got my letter from BRP in Oct last year. Took it to my dealer, they said that there was minimal wear on the sprocket and to come back in 18,000km. (I have over 70,000 km on the bike) I will be trying to get a new sprocket anyway in a month or so when I get the bike on the road.

Had my 2018 RTL inspected in October... mimimal wear. The new sprockets weren't in stock yet. Booked to have it done April 14th when I have spring service done.
