Lone Star Rally & Wild West Honda

It's getting close to the Lone Star Rally in Galveston (Oct. 30-Nov.1). We had previously talked about setting up something for a ride down on Saturday, October 31st for us Houston area ryders. Ozzie, 3wheel, since it's in y'alls neck of the woods why don't y'all put together time and meet info for those of us up north. Also, everybody might want to mark their calendars for Saturday, November 14th. It's my understanding that Wild West Honda on I-10 in Katy is having demo rides for the Spyder and that they think they'll have an RT. They'll know for sure next Tuesday.

Arch--I intend to provided I get the Spyder back from the dealer. Took it in Saturday for update #2 and noticed that the handlebar had some "play" in it. They got the update #2 done, but haven't figured out why the handle bar play...so I'm calling tomorrow to see what the latest is. The day I drove it home after I bought it, the handle bar "play" was very apparent. When they installed the 1" inch riser, they over tourqued the shaft bolt and it snapped. I'm thinking this "play" may be the same thing again. We'll see. Hopefully, they can get this resolved in the next day or two. By the way, it's my understanding they've let 6 or 7 employees go, so it's not looking good.

Ed--You talking about the 14th or the Lone Star Rally? Hopefully, I'll get my Spyder back from Pro Powersports tomorrow. They're still waiting for a part to come in from BRP to fix my loose handle bar. If I get to ride down to the Rally, my Southern Cruiser group is leaving Saturday morning at 7:30 with KSU at 8:00 from the Chevron at 290 and Highway 6 to head down there. You're more than welcome to come down with us. I've got your cell number from the Hill Country ride and I'll give you a call tomorrow evening and let you know about my situation. Also, I'm registered on the 14th to ride an RT at 10:30 at Wild West Honda.

Ozzie--Did you get a demo ride in Galveston? I did and I'm very impressed with the RT, although due to all the traffic on the island, I never got the thing out of 3rd gear. The torque and gearing is a lot different then mine.

We need to get together on the 14th.

It was great to have reserved parking by the Demo Area at the rally. No I didn’t get a chance to demo ryde but enjoyed sitting on it…Its just not my style, I wonder if the RS model is geared the same.
Name the time and place for the 14th. I’m going in for the recall/updates this week. Have you gotten this done? After talking with reps at the rally they convinced me into having this done… I’m a little nervous. But hopefully all is well for the 14th.

Yeah, I had the 2nd update done last week and everything seems to be okay. It ran fine down and back from Galveston.

I'm sold on the RT.

Ed--I'm confirmend for 10:30, so I probably need to get there by 9:45. If they do what they did in Galveston, you've got to watch a 10 minute movie and go through a 10 minute rundown on Spyder operating features and then a parking lot ride test, then they turn you loose on the escorted demo ride.

I was looking at leaving my place at 9:15, go south on Barker Cypress to 529, west on 529 to Greenhouse, south on Greenhouse to I-10, then exit at 99 (Grand Parkway), then back up service road on south side to the dealership. I'm not sure how that fits in to what you had in mind. I know we all ought to be able to get together for lunch. Ozzie's got a morning time and I believe 3WD does also.
