I’ve done a search with no luck.
Just picked up a 2011 RT SM5 and noticed that when I turn the key off, the headlights turn off after a few seconds which seems normal.
However, when I press the brake pedal the brake lights come on which doesn’t seem normal to me.
You’re input is appreciated as always.
Thanks
Greg

Brake lights will always come on whether the key is on or not when brake pedal is depressed. Works the same way in a car.

Same as your emergency flashers (if the 2011 has flashers and I assume it does). It is a safety issue.

It's a legal requirement your brake lights and horn button work with the ignition On or Off.

Universal, as already mentioned.

Not sure about your '11, but on our 17, the horn also works with the key OFF.

By the way, if you would like to turn your headlights off sooner, when you turn the key OFF, turn it back ON, then OFF again. The rear lights still stay on, but the headlights are off.

CAN AM is the only motorcycle that I have seen that the brake lights and horn work with the key off.
