IMHO .... No .... you can do much better ... I hope you have already ridden a few different Spyder models and are VERY sure you want one ..... They handle very differently than any motorcycle ..... good luck and :welcome: ..... Mike

:agree: Dollar for dollar, Monk's RT is a steal. The re-designed '20+ RT handled better than prior years. PLUS Monk has upgraded his suspension and includes lots of farkles.

2018 Spyder 12.000 miles

If you're willing to pay that much for a 2018 you would be much better off with a 2020 or newer for about the same price.
The one posted here is a good deal and there are a few more out there like this if you look around.

That doesn't load for me. What color is it? What aftermarket accessories does it have? Does it have the GPS and luggage? Does it have any warranty left on it?

How much are they asking? Can you pay cash or do you need financing?

They certainly are proud of it. To me, not a good deal.

I would also suggest checking out Cycletrader.com. You will find many good deals there as well.

In case you're not convinced by now, maybe one more big NO will help you to avoid a regretful purchase. $23,000 + + for a 2018 RTL with a drivers backrest and 12,000+ miles is WAY over priced. The one advertised here, suggested above, is a good deal. You said you are a novice. Those answering you are not. Take the good advice and spend you money more wisely..... Jim

This Spyder came up for sale a very short time after I bought a brand new 2021 RTL…. I would have snatched this one up in less than a heartbeat otherwise. I think the one you are looking at is MUCH over priced. The new models of 2020 and 2021 are nice machines.

This is definitely not a good deal. I also vote that the one that Monk is selling is definitely a better deal.

2018 Spyder 12.000 miles

No. It's 4 year old Spyder at near a new price. Severe buyer's remorse often is the aftermath of a hurried purchase. Take your time to research what's out there and when a genuinely good deal comes along you'll be ready to jump!

Check out this thread: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?146285-what-improvements-were-made-to-2020-RT-Limited-in-the-2021-and-2022-years&highlight=mirror+2020. Your Spyder may or may not have a mirror vibration issue. It's something you'll want to check out and if it hasn't been corrected get the dealer to do so. Also, do a search here for BRPConnect. Some owners have had real issues getting it to work satisfactorily and others have had good luck with it. Learn all you can about it and try to be ahead of problems using it.

Get a handle on those two issues and all will be super great with your new ride!

Oh, and review this thread: https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?41346-quot-Do-s-and-Do-Nots-quot-for-new-Spyder-owners. It is deep fountain of good information for new Spyder owners. It will go a long way to cure your 'novice' status!

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions. I especially appreciate the links in the forums. I will be posting pics when it’s delivered on Friday! I am taking my 3 wheel class so I can legally ride it Saturday and Sunday. This community is so nice. Outside of this community I have gotten **** for buying a Can am because I’m in my late 20’s and those bikes are for “old people” or disabled people. Kinda pissed me off. Oh well Ill be having fun and I’ll be more comfortable.

Age is just a number, you are for sure gonna enjoy the spyderride, whether cruising, and enjoying the scenery, or blasting the paved roads, it's a ver versatile machine, can't wait to hear your first experience.
Mine was (still is) a real eyeopener....

People are jealous, it's kinda an expensive toy, I had a motorbike, and found that I was always drivin alone, cause my spouse, didn't want to ride with me, so I was at my dealer, and asked if i could testdrive a can am spyder, took it home, the wife jumped on, and after a few km's she was filming, and apping on her phone, telling her sister, YEAH finally in the comfort zone, so I bought one on the spot..15000 kms later, we still love this machine
ps, I am 53 yrs old...ghegheghe

welcome on this awesome forum, where there is no envy, just folks who want to help, even if you ask questions, they have already answered a thousand times... try to search for tyres, and you will see

Check out this guy's site and videos. https://www.martinthevlogger.com/ He's not an old guy and has a lot of fun with his Spyder. Welcome to the forum.

A likely reason for the **** they are spewing ..... is because they are clueless !!!! .... After three Spyders over 13 yrs of riding I consider myself to be an expert at it ..... and I have surprised many folks on lots of different types of High End machines with What my Spyder can do ..... stay safe, and take your time learning to ride it " like you stole it " ...... good luck .... I tell my 2-wheeled crew to try it before you knock it. They have learned that the Spyder can stay with them in the hairiest places and no longer look at them as 'handicapped toys'. I used to look at these with distain when blowing thru the Smokys on my sport tourer. I used to race Karts and the Spyder brings back all the same thrills (without the spills).

First of all (& no disrespect intended), glad you bought the latest generation, you will love riding it!

Second, to all those who "dis" you..., tell them to "Have a Nice Day" (see Bon Jovi), and remember (what my mother told me, 50 years ago), "Sticks & stones may break your bones, but words can never hurt you". Many of the Harley owners I ride with tell me, privately, "I can see the day where this will keep me on the road"..., even more of their wive's love it!

You'll get tens of thousands of miles of enjoyment from this purchase!

Last, I eavesdropped here for a year before I bought; this forum is a fantastic source for support and advice from fellows owners, and for your contributions to us.
