I don’t know if anyone can be of much help. Many times a manufacturer will stop supporting a product when it gets a certain age. They want you to upgrade.

:chat: YES, that is the 'New Nice Way' of saying so sorry but you need to Upgrade. Hopefully you still have information in the GPS. Anyhow it is Upgrade Time. ....... : )

I have 2 of the 660 models and 1 of the 450. Just updated all of them to the latest maps a few months ago with no trouble (except the 450 didn't have enough memory so I had to deselect Canada)

You might want to inquire here: Zumo User Forum (https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/index.php)

They may be able to assist.

But surely if Garmin themselves have said the 660 model is now too old and is no longer supported, that gives you the answer you’re looking for, Bfromia:dontknow:

I don't think that's Garmin's official stance. Who knows who he spoke with. If it's on their website, that's official.

I've had issues with some units before and I was able to do the update by swapping cables. I guess I am saying try different cables.

Maybe they meant your computer is too old?

A local rider I know has had exactly the same issue with their 660 so I suspect Garmin's update has munted it. They haven't found a solution to fix it yet but I'll let you know if they do.

The 660 updates just fine but you must fix the system software first.
This happened to me years ago, and there is a way to fix a Bricked Garmin.
Unfortunately do to time and age, can't give details.
If Garmin will not help you, check out the Zumo User Forum.

Good Luck

Just updated one of my 660 Garmins two days ago. No issues. I don't know the exact year of mfg for this one, a Can-Am unit. Used Garmin Express software for the connection.

My other two are: a H-D branded unit from 2010 and a Can-Am unit from 2014. The 2010 unit was last updated in Nov, 2021, but that was almost 3 months ago.
