I suppose those three extra inches in width between the front wheels helps too.

I like the way they moved everything back, big bonus for me :2thumbs:

Again, Thanks for showing us the difference in the video, this a big help

Man this is way off topic... but, I find it real interesting to see how you get on. I always tell people to mount it like a horse making your foot with the left peg the first and last point of contact.

Lamont, you're just throwing your leg over like its a bike. Somehow, I just can't do that, so I always hop up on the left peg first.

Now I'm real curious about how others get on and off.

no pun intended on "getting off"

I never put my foot on the peg when mounting. Of course, I'm pretty tall. Just a habit, I guess.:dontknow:

I rarely step on the peg to get on of to get off the Spyder. I have long enough legs that it's easy for me to mount or dismount from the ground.

I almost always step on the peg to mount and dismount. Habit I picked up with my BMW. That one is so tall, that with a topcase mounted there was no way to get on and off without the assistance of the peg. BTW, police are taught to mount and dismount from the right. Keeps them out of traffic.

I don't have a choice. I have to step on the peg to get on the Spyder. I've got a right hip that is headed for total joint replacement. No way is my right leg going to clear the seat of the Spyder to get on without my left foot on the peg.

As for getting on from the wrong side (hold over from horses) my muscle memory tells me it's all wrong. I suppose if I spent time practicing mounting from the right I could get used to it. But I'd rather spend that time ryding!!

Thanks Lamont.
Still the leg position where the pegs are way to close and unfortable and I am only 5' 10"
Is there room to move them forward? Also, any room to put hwy pegs besides the fin itself?

Thanks Lamont

You must really hate your Spyder then because your legs are much farther forward then a stock RS. I'm sure there will be some aftermarket mods that will bring them even further.

Soon as I can get one on there. :doorag:

I always use the pegs, and I mount from either side. Why not? Has anyone broken a peg by standing on it?

Don't mount the Spyder that way when your "WIFE" is sitting on the back :yikes:

Different ride, ours you can ride more aggresively and the pegs where they are help in the turns. I also have the hwy pegs which I love.
I would want a more relaxed position than what I saw when I sat on the RT, just my opinion though
