But this time it’s good news,
today at 7:00 AM California time
they removed 8 screws and pins
from my foot.... now I am told I will
be able to put on my riding boots and

How great that is!! I know, been there too. One doesn't realize how important riding is until you are deprived of it.

Great news, Dave. Take it slow and easy at first, and soon you’ll be riding distances. Bruce (from BC, Canada)

Good to hear. I don't think I've heard many people having screws/pins removed once in, except for external fixators.

Something that has been posted (more than once) on a 2-wheeled motorcycle site that I visit occasionally:

"Motorcycling is not a matter of life or death. :lecturef_smilie:

It's much more important than that."  :ohyea: :2thumbs:

Good show Dave, ride deprivation is almost as bad as sleep deprivation, or fill in the blank.

All the bones in my foot were shattered, they had to pull them all together so they would grow together and they did but the screws were
long and some were just under the skin making it super hard to ware shoes.

Good news Dave. I had 2 surgeries on my left foot in the last year. Still have a plate and 6 screws in that foot. I need surgery on my right foot soon. Am waiting until July when it is too hot to ride here so the recoop time will not be in the good riding weather. Foot surgeries suck. It is amazing how much we take our feet for granted and how they can affect our lives when they have issues. Glad you are going in the right direction..... Jim

When this all started in late June last year, the doctor said to plan on it taking a year or more
to heal up so I could walk..... I thought YEA RIGHT, give me a month and I will be good...well
that sure as hell did not happen it is now a year, I guess he got the last laugh. They removed all
of the screws Wednesday so we will see what happens now I sure hope I can put my riding boots on
