Tired of Kenda's price, mileage and poor wear characteristics. Looking for a replacement without changing the dimensions. Anybody have any experience with Federal Formoza AZ01"s. or any other brand? I have a 2013 Spyder ST LTD with 32K miles and I'm, sure there are folks out there with similar circumstances hoping to find a way around setting off the VSS but improving tire performance. .

" setting off the VSS ", it won't occur from any NORMAL size tires you can mount ( with OEM fenders ) - Period ..... I have read about every possible tire size combination for all Spyders ..... NONE ever caused a Code ...... Your size concern isn't a new question, it was figured out many years ago .... annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd right now the best rated tire for any Spyder is the Vredestein Quatrac 5 ..... and they have the sizes that work on your spyder ...... I ran the federals until the pothole blew out the sidewall.no others issues noted when used.

I've got the Federal AZ01s on and they've been great on the twisties at twice the posted limit. My sons follow me on the two-wheelers and they're scared trying to keep up. My Nanny doesn't even complain.

I just put a set of Federal AZ01s on my F3-T. Absolutely amazing! I had a set on my previous F3 Daytona, but I put them on when it was new so I didn't realize how great they were. Now I ran the stock tires on my F3-T for a while but the handling just wasn't there. Decided to put the Federals on and it's a new machine!
Great tires and a lot less money than Vredesteins.

Yah I bought a ‘13 RS in Jan. & decided to check pressures today, well front tires look to be a brand new set of Kendra’s of course, will run some of the tread down before replacing, but the rear was a brand I’m not familiar with, a Duplo HP1 205/55 15 (which surprised coming from a dealership)... was wondering if anyone knew of them & their performance ???

They are 205/55R 15 , if you look up “tire size.com” there is a tire calculator there... this size is the same height as the 225/55R 15 & just 0.8 of an inch narrower... as I said it was on the cycle when I bought it from a dealer ???

There is also a tire speed calculator where you can put in the original tire size & speedometer reading then the size of a new tire and will calculate the actual speed @ that speedometer reading... have used it on my auto’s

I bought the 165/60-15 for the front of my RT .... others here went with the 165/65-15 or 175/55-15 ..... prices vary a bit but all these sizes fit all Spyders so let pricing be your guide .... google it to find dealers in the Q-5 tire ..... Mike

I have been running the Federal Formozas for years. They handle great the price is right, they will last 40,000 miles or more and they are asymmetrical so you can rotate them without having to unmount the tire.

I am using the 165/60/15 Vredestein Quatrac on my 2016 RT. I wouldn't go any wider....they're GREAT!!

Another happy Federal Formoza customer here too. I had those on my old 2014 and was super happy with the results. They just plain work, and work well.

36,000 plus miles on my 2015 SM6, and they still measure 5 to 6mm on tire gauge, with even wear across the tread. 16 to 18 psi.

I’m running 175-55-15 Vredestein Quatrac on my ‘14 RTS and have about 2,500 miles on them and totally love them.

I have the Federal Formoza tires. The po put them on it. I don't know how many miles they have on them, but they have lots of tread left. My only complaint about them is noise. They whine terribly! Any suggestions that might help the whine? I am running what the manual says for pressure, 18 lbs.

I have them on my 2018 F3L and mine do not whine. I put in 18 lbs also. Wonder if your alignment is off.

My Federals never made any excessive noise either. They were smooth and quiet.

Another thing came to me. Are your tires mounted correctly. There is an inside and outside stamped on the tire. Look at the sidewall an see if it says outside on both. If not I would have them remounted and balanced.

I will check for the inside and outside. I am pleased with how it handles, just wish the noise would go away. They are worse than the Dunlops used to be.
