Not butting in, but yes the SM6 is a manual. :2thumbs:

Yes. SM6 is the manual 6-speed. If you see SE-6 that is the semi-auto transmission version.

Not (really) trying to confuse anyone too much.... but actually, the SM6 is the manual trans with a MANUAL Clutch and shift selection; while the SE6 is the SAME manual trans, only it has an oil/hydraulic clutch with electronic shifting actuated via the flappy finger paddles!

The SM & SE gearboxes themselves are essentially the same, it's only the CLUTCH & SHIFT actuation methods that are different! The SE's are NOT an auto transmission by any stretch of the imagination, even if they do have a computer controlled 'fail-safe' downshift that won't let you damage things too much!! :lecturef_smilie:

I usually do not comment on asking prices for Spyders in public.

I make an exception here. This is a really good deal for someone looking for a 2014 Spyder. It is priced at the LOW END, and it will be a great bargain for someone. SM6 is not an issue for most.

Were I in the market, I would jump on it.

Wow! I am surprised that you still have this. I have become a little spoiled with the semi auto, but if I was even thinking about getting into a RT, I would pick yours up in a minute. That is a super deal, especially with the seat. Maybe see about selling the seat separate and then lowering the price by that amount. I only mention that because your bike is at a great price point to allow a new rider to get into the sport. And to a new rider, the seat probably will not make that much of a difference (it didn't to me when I started). That would lower the price to a point that someone on the edge, would have to jump and get it. Either way, glws.

Hey, we are looking for a Spyder, and yours sounds very nice. Where in Oklahoma are you located? Just curious about what
kind of mileage you get. Are there any issues with your Spyder? Small or large?

We are located up in Missouri, so not terribly far away. In fact we know some people in Tulsa and Muskogee.

To be honest we are looking for prices down around $9500, and wonder if your price is dead solid, or somewhat negotiable.

Thanks for any information.

The best thing to do if you are interested in the Spyder is send sduskin a PM. They may get that quicker.

Good point CopperSpyder. Truth be told, we're still a bit ambivalent about the Spyder. We're headed out in a few minutes to actually
look at some at the dealer. We've not see the Ryker in person, but no intention of buying new.

While going direct via PM is often the best way to contact an advertiser here, sending PM's still relies on the intended recipient coming back to the Forum AND THEN actually noticing that they have an unread PM waiting for them....

But you're in luck! :ohyea: In this particular instance (cos not all profiles are set up to allow it. ;) ) if you really want to get straight thru to sduskin, you could open their profile (by clicking on their username alongside their post), then click on the "Send email' link that's generally about 3 down the list on the left under their avatar pic. Straight to their inbox - and no need to wait for them to come back to check out on the Forum.

No, not always like me all PMs come to my email so I see it that way and decide if I need to log on to reply.

No, not always like me all PMs come to my email so I see it that way and decide if I need to log on to reply.

But then, you do have the Yes/No selection for that in your Profile set to YES so that the system will send you an email notification whenever you get a PM, don't you CS. ;)

Not too many users here seem to do that; most, like sduskin, have that particular option set to 'NO' - so they only get to see PM notifications when they log on & notice the blinking Notification indicator up the top of the screen; &/or when they're already logged on & the PM Notification pop-up actually pops up! Their choice, of course, but it can make it hard to reach some &/or attract their attention..... and then there's also those who either never read their PM's in the first place, or at least never acknowledge that they've received them, even if the sender has asked for a 'read receipt'!! :banghead:

Here's hoping you get the info you're after tho, Possible - now that you know a couple of ways of getting thru, besides just waiting & hoping anyway! And of course, all this discussion actually IS bringing sduskin's advert up to the top of the 'New Posts' and 'Today's Posts' search results/lists too, so it's gotta be helping with getting the advert noticed, doesn't it?!

Sduskin,

Yes, we did buy a Spyder at last. Peggy found one in Portsmouth, Nebraska which is only about 130 miles north. :) It's a 2013 ST S SM5 with
4300 miles on it. They were asking $7500 and Peggy got them down to $7200 out the door. I rode it home and it seems to track straight and
true. Now time to buy "stuff" for it. LOL

Hey Shakin_jake, in the interest of not hijacking Sduskins advert any further off topic than it's already gone, I've moved your question into a thread all of it's own, under Spyder & Ryker Discussion & in the Spyder RT - Touring section with the title 'How easy to use are the SM foot pedal shifters?' here:

https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?136623-How-easy-to-use-are-the-SM-foot-pedal-shifters

Posted an answer in there.

And with that, let's go back to your Advert sduskin.

:gaah: I cannot believe that this bike is still for sale at this price. This looks to be the bargain of the decade. I sure hope you find it a good home. And although I like my SE6, the SM6 is still a joy to ride. My first spyder was a 2014 RT SM6, and I put a bit over 22k joyous miles on it. GLWS

Once your sale transaction is complete, could you please 'Mark this thread as sold' via the link in the drop down list under 'Thread Tools'? (in the menu bar just above the top post on this page) This will close & lock the thread as well as change the prefix from FS: to [Sold] :ohyea:

If you don't have the 'Thread Tools' option at the top of the page (but you should :dontknow: ) just drop me a PM & I'll do it for you - not that I'm superstitious, I just don't really want to do it without knowing that your deal has gone thru & is finalised... :p
