Hello all as a snowmobiler I am used to heated handgrips for many years and they do get very hot on snowmobiles! On this new spider the factory heated grips are barely keeping up with the cold weather barely working very lukewarm is it me or that’s all that they get hot on they don’t get as hot as the rear ones for passenger is this normal????

Same here. 2019 F3L. They do not seem to be as warm as the ones on my 2014 RT-S. Those have a high and a low setting.

Going to have mine checked out when I have my 3000 mile oil change in about three weeks.

I agree -- the grips only get warm, not hot. It would be nice if they had two settings; ahhh and ouch!

I have no complaints on my RTL. Usually just use the low setting.

BRP should offer a high/low switch upgrade for the F3 models.

Well seems to be consistent there’s nothing wrong with them but coming from the number one snowmobile company of the earth you would think they could put some hot warmers on our spiders thoroughly disappointed

Perhaps using another power source? Check my Heated Grips/Heated Pants page for how to do it.

I agree. The heated grips on the F3L have a lot of room for improvement. Do wish they had two heat settings like both of my RTS's had. I had SpyderPops check mine out last year when I had a lot of extra LED's installed on my bike. I believe he said that some of the 2017 F3's that the wires were installed wrong at the factory but he said mine were wired correct. I don't know if other years were effected or not.

The stock grips on my 2017 F3L got fairly hot early on, when new; then, I added foam covers, after which they now only give me a warm feeling, at best. Anything added to the stock bars seems likely to markedly diminish the effectiveness of the hand grip heating coils. And, if you add arm rests for your passenger seat, you lose the rear heated hand grips entirely - they get taken off and replaced by the non-heated arm rests.

I picked up our 2019 f3L a couple months ago and it was a rather cold day. Our 2012 RTL hand grips got so hot on HIGH that I could almost drive with fingerless gloves down to 40. During that first trip home pressing the SINGLE button to turn heat on did cross my mind as to how that was going to work. Soon I to noticed that that HEATED grip was ****, even on low the 2012 grips are toasty. Hell I have to wear REAL Gloves now.. what a pain in the ass

My 2016 rt special series would almost burn your hands on high setting, now my 2018 f3 s with brb grips with one setting are no where as hot

Yep. The heated grips on my wife's 2019 F3L suck as well. BRP needs to get them to be hotter. Pretty useless as they are.
