Decided to give this a shot. I drilled out the black back side of the tail light with a 1/4" drill. Just through the black to the red reflector and then added a reflective aluminum to the inside walls of the fixture. Not to bad for brightness either.

Very delicate touch on drilling through the black plate and not nicking the reflector.

I used a drill press with a stop on it so it would not penetrate the lens.

Great simple idea, no doubt someone will be selling pre-modified parts on eBay soon (like the trunk spring for $25.45).

I thought about doing that but was worried about messing up the reflector. I just replaced the whole thing. Very cool though! :2thumbs:

I just went to a Bike shop and picked up a tail light that I thought would look good. Mine is oval and the light is on when running.:ohyea: No more reflector on the plate light.

Wouldn't it look good if someone could figure out a way to carve out the shape of a spider instead of drilling holes.

I like that. Thanks for sharing a great idea!
