The shut down came after riding stop and go for about a hour in 100 degree weather,The instrument cluster did not respond when the key was on. The flasher and brake lights worked, no horn, no other lights. checked the fuses and found the main 10A fuse blown. Replaced it and everything seems to work fine, will ride it tomorow to see if it blows again. Will carry lots of 10A fuses just in case. Spyder heat up quit a bit, will keep you posted if it happens again, only have 458 miles on it so far.

You might want to look at Lamont's thread on removing the covers under the engine to improve airflow and cool the engine - I think the folks who have wrapped the exhaust manifolds have the right idea too..

Just to reiterate what's been said in other threads, blown fuses are not the norm. If you have fuses blowing regularly, you have some wire or component shorting out or otherwise causing a high current draw. That condition needs to be fixed. Shorting causes small arc burns of the component and eventually it'll just burn open causing total failure of the component or wire.
