Okay gang it's time to start planning the July Spyder ryde. I need some suggestions for possible destinations for the July ryde. I though about Biloxi for a lunch at one of the casinos or some other restuarant in the area. Maybe even a trip to New Orleans and a late lunch in the French Quarter. Let me have some suggestions and I will get something organized.

Capt John; sabunim5 and myself had a great time this past Saturday - it would sure be great to have a few more ryders join us.

If you ever plan something near Central Florida (Tampa, Orlando, etc), wife and I could join in, adding 2 :spyder2:s to the ride.

We may just have to plan a ryde going Southeast in the future. What we really need to do is have an all Florida :spyder2: owner ryde. Centrally located in the state and just all meet and have a good time. Will check with the group up here and see if any are interested. Keep looking for posts.

I will be around the Gulf Coast in July. Put something together and I will join.

I am trekking from Ca to Fl. on a one month search for Margaritaville

I could do the 18th somewhere on the gulf coast. Actually it would give me an excuse to get out of some other family stuff. I will be leaving Grand Isle La on the 15th of July and I have a time share in Florida on the 18th but that is no big deal if I don't get there that day.

Let's see if we can hook up

Because of the heat at this time of the year, I think it would be a good idea to keep the ryde close to home. As the weather gets cooler we can see about rydes to more distant destinations. So we have had a suggestion by Shunkmanitu to ryde to LuLu's in Gulf Shores and have a meal.

This I feel would be a good thing for a couple of reasons. I am hoping the shorted ryde will allow for more participation than we have been getting lately and we can take it slower if needed to allow for frequent hydration breaks.

RYDE DATE: 18 JULY 2009 - RAIN DATE: 19 JULY 2009

MEETING TIME: 10:00 AM KICK STANDS UP (LOL) AT 10:30 AM

Well it was just the 3 Musketeers yesterday but we had a great day on our July Gulf Coast SpyderRyder outing.

I met Capt John early and we then met up with Sabunim5 at Pensacola Motorsports. We pick up our filters for our upcoming oil changes and Sabunim ordered some parts for his 12,000 mile service.

We headed out about 10:30 and rode along US Hwy 90 to Robertsdale, AL then South on Hwy 59 to Gulf Shores, AL. We ended up at LuLu's Homeport Resturant - this place is on the Intercoastal Waterway and the owner is Jimmy Buffet's sister. The menu is almost identical to Jimmy's Cheeseburger in Paradse Resturants. We had a great lunch with lots of good conversation.

From there we went to Capt John's house and we worked on all our Spyders. Capt John had the new sway bar to install and a Green Air Filter.

Sabunim and I both wanted to adjust our shock settings; which we did. Me not being very good as a mechanic; no apptititude in that department, but willing to learn. was able to help and learn. Sabunim is a great teacher and Capt John does a good job too.

We departed company after the work and Sabunim and I rode back to Pensacola. Man it was a great day and we are discussing our August Ryde that we be posted in the near future. Hoping to have better participation next month but we had a great day ryding and working on our favorite transportation the :spyder2:.

I made a quick run. Coming off 98 to West hwy 90. I took that turn 20 mph faster than ever before. This is the turn I had the right front wheel off the ground a couple of times. I going to put it through some paces later today, if the rain doesn't get me.

I only had the front wheel off the ground once, but that was because I was comparing the new bar to the old bar with no body english used at all. It was alot better, but is really amazing when you use the lateral lean and push (body english). My comfort level has jump 10 notches about taking on the twisities!:2thumbs:
