How cold before damage is done to the spyder motor can you ride in? I think the oil in my 4 stroke snowmobile is the same as the spyder’s, so I assume temperature should not matter as long as it warms up for 3 minutes or so before reving her up. Just curious. I’ve riden my 1000 can am wheeler in the much colder too. Today was the coldest I have ever road a spyder. It was 30 degrees. With the windshield, snowmobile helmet and klim jacket with the heated grips and heated seat it was extremely comfortable. It nothing like a -30 degree day with ultra low windshield in on the sleds.

Seth Osburnsen rides his Spyder to work in Bemidgi, MN in the winter, I have seen him post pictures of his temperature when it was well below zero

P0667 module DPS
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warning DPS low temperature operating limitation.
DPS has operated in the temperature limitation range of (0 to -10).
No troubleshooting is needed
This is a warning that DPS is operating in the temperature limitation range of (0 to -10)

That's -9F in the photo. The code cleared when the temp warmed above 0F.

The cold is going to hurt you long before it hurts your Spyder...

I DON’T get cold. I have the best gear out there. I’ve run the coldest of the coldest on the sleds in the mountains of canada, Montana, Tetons, michigan and Vermont. I remember waking up one morning in my snowmobile toyhauler with the furnace running all night and the doors were frozen shut at -40.

I got my masters degree in Technology education in Bermidgi. Loved it up there but I was only making $19000 as a school teacher and couldn’t afford it.

Should think no difference in riding or driving in sub zero Deg C for the vehicle - its the person that is the different factor. Used to ride my Ducati in 0 deg C all the time

Your Spyder will run in weather colder than you care to. I did 20 below zero in Duluth MN, ONE TIME on two wheels. Way past my fun quotient.

I no longer ride when it is below 20 above or when there is ice and snow on the roads. That includes both two wheels and Spyders.

Don't know about the Spyder as yet, but I've ridden and ST1300 in 19 degree weather without heated gear. From my one test ride on a 2011 RT, I imagine I could do better on the Spyder, the wind pocket is bigger/better.
